Re: ***The Official Football Manager Thread***
I stopped paying attention to our youth them this year because I put the DoF in charge of it 100%. Figured he needed a damn job since it was being paid to do nothing. And then I just got this...
Maybe I'll have to start using some of these youngsters more. They also just won the U19 Bundesliga West.
And our new attacking 5-3-2 system was very effective this season. Suck it Bayern.
We also won the Champions League. Beating PSG 2-1 in the final. I've now lost interest in this save. Because I'm just going to dominate the league and be in at least the quarters of the CL every year now with the way the team is setup and how much money I still have to play with. This is boring.Last edited by Zac; 06-08-2018, 04:50 PM.

Re: ***The Official Football Manager Thread***
This was my first season at Ingolstadt in FM17. Played a cynical defensive style en-route to EL qualification.
That 30 goals against is somewhat inflated by giving up 13 goals in 3 games during the Ruckrunde to Leverkusen, Dortmund and Wolfsburg. Our team put up 18 clean sheets this season.
We made the quarters in the German Cup, where we lost to eventual cup winners Bayern.
I hope BMG gives Heckling the boot, as I would like that job. The problem with Ingolstadt, is that while not in financial danger, they are a small market team and I just don't see a way to catch the big boys in the short term.
Would anyone be interested in reading a full dynasty? Perhaps a journeyman or something like that?Comment

Re: ***The Official Football Manager Thread***
After promises by ownership that they would put some money into the club and into my pocket, I decided to spur Liverpool and stay at Amiens and signed a five-year extension. The 2033/34 season was rather unexciting. PSG ran away with the league...again...for the 15th straight season. If it wasn't for Monaco winning Ligue 1 the first three seasons of this save before the bigger clubs poached them of their starlets, PSG would've been on a 22-year run of Ligue 1 titles.
As for us...again, not that exciting. We ended the season on a six-game unbeaten streak to secure second again, five points clear of Monaco. We crashed out of Champions League in the first knockout stage against Manchester City. We got knocked out of the League Cup in the quarterfinals by Metz. We got knocked out of the French Cup in the tenth round by Lorient.
Towards the end of the season, there were some rumors floating around that a business tycoon was planning to purchase the club. Yeah, right we all thought. However, it came to fruition and Amiens was sold. Ownership promised money, facility upgrades, and wiping out the stadium debt that frankly has been hamstringing this club.
With the increase in payroll, my very first goal was to lock up AMC Nazareno Tula to a contract extension. Under prior ownership, I didn't have the payroll capacity to meet his demands and was afraid I was going to have to sell him this offseason with two years remaining on his deal to max out what I could get from him. Now though, I was able to meet his demands. A 5-year, $47M contract with a $7.75M loyalty bonus, the largest contract that has ever been given out by Amiens, was enough to keep Tula here. He had a down year by his standards because he had to play up front more last season, a position he's not totally comfortable with. We'll be sure he plays behind the strikers this season.
I went about remaking this squad.
Good Luck in your Future Endeavors
RB Flavio Nasta - I loved this guy. Signed him on a free out of Argentina back in the 2028/29 season. He immediately became captain of the squad and immediately became a fan favorite. In his six seasons, he made 175 appearances, scoring 14 goals, registering 33 assists, 19 POM awards, 18 Team of the Week appearances, 4 straight Supporters' Player of the Year awards, and 3 appearances on the Ligue 1 Team of the Year list. As captain, Flavio Nasta lifted the League Cup in 2032, as well as the Europa League trophy and the French Cup in 2033. Nasta started losing his trademark pace and I tried training him as a left back, as I don't ask my left back to bomb forward as much as my right back. Despite my coaching staff's insistence that he could, he couldn't quite come to grips with the position and he lost his starting spot at RB to a revolving door of guys who would succeed and move on. Despite losing his starting spot, he never complained. He left on a free to Napoli in Serie B.
AMC Matej Nemec - Good piece off the bench. Brought him on a loan from Malaga with a future fee attached to it and I activated that $3M clause following his loan spell. Nemec was slated to be the starter after a torn Achilles tendon pretty much ruined Tsvetan Damyanov's career with us. However, the arrival of Tula from Barcelona relegated Nemec to being a rotational piece. In four seasons, he made 75 appearances, scoring 9 goals, registering 10 assists, 2 POM awards, 3 Team of the Week appearances, and lifted the UEFA Super Cup in 2034. He left on a free to Derby in the Premier League.
AMC Deiner Hinestroza - Bought him from Besiktas for $7M. Call this a failed project on my part. While an AMC, he had the positional ability at striker and midfield, so I was hoping I could put him and Tula on the field at the same time. That never really materialized as he struggled to play in those positions. He was a natural AMC, but not on Tula's level. With the injury to Nacho last season, I moved Tula to striker and player Deiner at AMC and he did well, but he simply wasn't as creative as Tula in that spot. Once reinforcements came in, he lost his spot in the First XI and became a royal pain in the butt. Sold him to Norwich for $17M with futures taking it to $24M. I call that a win in my book.
RB Alonso Navarro - I simply can't keep right backs. Bought him from Inter for $6.25M. Did tremendous for us. Roma started sniffing around. He decided he wanted to go back to Italy. Sold him for $14.75M with potential futures of $21.5M. Scored the winning goal in the UEFA Super Cup, against Roma of all teams. He bossed them in that game...guess that's why they wanted him.
CM Mykola Kovalevych - A serviceable midfielder, but when I break the bank to sign you, I expect more than serviceable. Did great in the first season he was with us. Regressed in the second season, and didn't quite separate himself from cheaper alternatives like Helio Felix, Diego Medina, and Mateo Sanchez. With that in mind, and with interest from Red Bull Leipzig, I pulled the trigger on the move, to the tune of $21M with futures taking it to $27.5M. And considering how much he's struggling in Germany, this move will probably end up being a slight loss. Can't win them all I suppose.
CB Stephen Osei - This one hurt a bit. While I was the manager of France, I discovered Stephen sitting in the National Pool. When I got fired, I decided I could use a strong center back and signed him from Roma for $7M with futures that could take it to $11M in September 2031. During that season, he was mostly used as a sub in continental competitions (he didn't have to be registered) and was a starter in cup ties, though I did give him a start in the Ligue 1 season finale. For the 2032/33 season, he was the #3 center back behind Kingsley Singh and Loic Guerin. Following the Chinese inquisition, he became the starter alongside Jakub Hlavac, who resurrected his career at Amiens following his disastrous tenure at Arsenal. Over the next two seasons, Stephen became a strong presence in our back 4, culminating in being named to the Ligue 1 Team of the Year last season. Unfortunately, AC Milan came sniffing, and Stephen expressed a desire to go to Italy. Sold him for $19.75M with futures potentially taking it to $28.5M.
With those moves made, we had money to burn and a first team that needed depth badly. Considering we finished 20 points behind PSG last season after finishing six points behind them the year before, as well as scoring 8 fewer goals and allowing 16 more goals compared to the year before....we have our work cut out for us. I'm looking to bring in anywhere from 6-8 players. My goals...1-2 center backs, a right back, 2-3 midfielders, a striker, and a serviceable backup for Tula...and no loans. With the money we have now, we don't need to be cheap anymore.Last edited by jasontoddwhitt; 06-11-2018, 11:13 AM.Comment

Started a save with Suntan's N.A.P. file. Going to do a N.A. only journeyman starting with no job and see where I ended up. Or maybe I'll end up taking an unknown to the top. Well see.
I clicked the use league average option, so National A but Sunday league. I got 77 job interviews on the first day, LOL. The world is my oyster!

Minor issues being lower teams relocating across the country(Real San Jose moves to Florida due to L/L being wrong on the stadium) and stadiums for all the teams, some assigned from the existing database, but I created about 20 stadiums so every US team will have a stadium, even if they are sharing it with another team.Support Local Sports

If you want to restart in a second I fixed some 'minor' issues, and will have the full logo pack with the download as well.

Yeah, let me know when its ready. No rush. I messed this save up anyways by not selecting add players to playable teams, so everything in the 5th division below had zero players.

lmao, if i told you the amount of times i loaded up a test save and had 'disable first window transfer budgets' marked, then wondered aloud why teams weren't signing players, you'd be shocked I kept with this project for so long.Support Local Sports

When it was 8-0 in the 2nd half I just let my laptop sit there while I made a sandwich.
