Re: ***The Official Football Manager Thread***
Started a game with Chelsea a few weeks ago, just finished up my first year as manager.
United absolutely dominated the Premier League. Finishing top of the league with 92 points. I was in second the entire season, until 4 draws in a row to end the year (which happened right after I got bounced from the Champions League by Real Madrid in the semi's). I ended up finishing 4th with 76 points behind Arsenal and Man City (78 and 76 points). Wigan, Boro, and Stoke got relegated.
I reached the semi's in both the Champions League and the Carling Cup. Arsenal dominated me in the 6th round of the FA Cup 4-0. My squad played great in the Champions League, finishing top of the group (it was an easy group, but whatever) and then taking out Werder Bremen in the round of 16. I got paired up with Man U in the Quarters and took a 2-2 draw at Old Trafford in the first game. Came back to Stamford Bridge and put in a dominating 3-0 performance, thanks to a second half Didier Drogba hat trick. Everton knocked me out in the Carling Cup semi's.
Frank Lampard was a goalscoring machine, with 24 goals in the Premier League.
I bought a lot of youngsters and will let them develop in the U18's and Reserves, and I changed up the first team quite a bit too.
I got rid of Essien (he was a bitch), Ballack, Bridge, Alex, Anelka, Deco, Sheva, Pizarro, Belletti, Carvalho, Ferreira, Ivanovic, and Malouda.
I've added Arshavin, Lorik Cana, Servet Cetin, Rafael da Silva, Fabio da Silva, Henri Saivet, Perico, Mamadou Sakho, Carlos Vela, Jo, Gabriel Paletta, Matthieu Dreyer, and like 6-7 young players.
I just got Vela and Jo this summer, so I'm going to change my formation since I primarily used a 4-5-1, I'll change it to a 4-1-3-2 or something like that.
Drogba wants to move to Inter, so I might be selling him and trying to pick up Roque Santa Cruz who went to Man City but isn't playing.Blind to this impending fate

Acid- Ukrainian Artem Milevskiy is a better version of Santa Cruz, I would pursue him instead, unless of course he's already at City.Comment

Re: ***The Official Football Manager Thread***
Inter just offered me $24M for Mikel, I might have to take that. I might have a totally different starting XI by the time the season starts.Blind to this impending fate

Re: ***The Official Football Manager Thread***
Well I've reached the midpoint of the season, and currently I'm in first in the league, qualified for the knockout stage of the Champions League.
With England found out my WC group mates, Scotland, Egypt, and Uruguay.
Transfer wise, I brought in Kaka and Ribery for a total of 50 million.
Player wise, mexican Martin Galvan is staring to progress into the next Kaka.Comment

Re: ***The Official Football Manager Thread***
Well, Inter upped their offer to $29M for Mikel after he turned them down the first time. Sold him to Inter, sold Joe Cole to Barca and then swooped in for Lionel Messi. I also bought Mauro Zarate and Felipe Melo.
My squad is pretty ridiculous now. Messi scored in his debut with a sick individual effort and a powerful shot. Bosingwa can't seem to stay fit, so Rafael has been playing more and he's been really impressive. He might take the starting gig from Bosingwa.Blind to this impending fate

Re: ***The Official Football Manager Thread***
Crap, I made a mistake, Real Madrid made a $72M bid for Kaka and I decided to negotiate the deal(adjust the months from 24 to 6) and they withdrew their bid.
I was going to use the money to bring Messi to the club, now I can't.Comment

Re: ***The Official Football Manager Thread***
I have officially made the switch over, already downloaded badges, pics, and kits to make it a bit more authentic. I used FM-BASE to start, any other good sites for this? Got a Database up to date through May 2009. Starting my coaching career in MLS(DC United) and see if i can work my way over to europe. Can you start out as a National Team coach or have to wait for offers? Looks bit intense, and alot to take in at first, but will take it easy to start and try to get a feel while playing some friendlies.
Cheers!!Comment

In my Fulham career, on 11/23/13, I'm currently sitting 3rd in the EPL with 26 points through 13 games (7W/5D/1L/+14GD). I've resigned from South Africa after finishing second in my World Cup qualifying group behind the seemingly amazing Cameroon. I couldn't stand the lack of talent on the RSA, so I'm waiting for a big name international coach vacancy so I can hop on in. John Fleck seems to get injured every time he travels with Scotland, this time for 7-8 weeks with strained knee ligaments (you may remember he fractured his skull a season or two back). I had a $25 million offer and contract accepted for Willians Santana (a great CM/AM from Vitoria in Brazil) fall out because he suffered a broken ankle the day his work permit was passed and thus failed his subsequent physical. I'm still alive in the Carling Cup; I'm in the quarterfinals paired at Wigan (I know, surprising matchup). Anderson Martins, a terrific Brazilian CB I signed over the summer, has stolen the starting job from captain Brede Hangeland; however, Martins' 8 yellows and 1 red in 11 appearances is a little disconcerning. I've been starting to have it transfer from Fulhamerica to Fulhambrazil. Henrique, a Brazilian striker, has already bagged 6 goals, while Vagner Love is just a terrific all around forward. I would recommend grabbing a good scout for South America or Argentina/Brazil ASAP (I have a 20/20 scout that keeps on finding young, cheap gems that I feel I need to sign). My Chilean LB regen has now become a wonderkid; he is absolutley absurd, valued at $9.75 million at the tender age of 20. I'll be sure to update a little more frequently than I have been...YNWA
