Holding other clubs hostage so you can screw over your rivals is not a good way to develop good transfer relations with those other clubs.

So if Spurs are doing this, and it's not just a false rumor, they are acting idiotic.
lol I dont see how Spurs are acting idiotic. It's not like they have to sell Bale to Madrid.

If they can prevent their main rival from strengthen their squad, why wouldnt they do it.

And btw, if Madrid wants to sell their players, they would. They dont need permission.

Guess what I'm trying to say, there's like what less than 72 hours or so left in the Window, dont believe anything you read, 98% chance it's completely fabricated

Idiotic? Rofl, just because you don't like what they are doing doesn't make it idiotic.

Spurs are doing everything right in this window, if the situation was reversed and it was Arsenal, this is 100% what you would want Wenger and co. doing. It's not like RM have handled this with even a shred of grace or dignity so I'm sure Spurs are relishing the chance to make them sweat. I'm sure the deal will go through no matter what, Spurs hold all the cards.

Added bonus of screwing over your arch-nemesis? Where do I sign up?

Actually, after years I selling our best players, I'd want to hang onto one of we were in their situation.

I'm extremely skeptical. And I'm a Podolski fan, hope he stays.

Not sure our best move is to buy the super youngsters right now. Would've preferred a player in his prime (Higuain)

"I don't believe the Spurs are idiotic" and "Rofl" pretty much make it so I can't take them seriously. Its a pretty dirtball tactic, so I'm not surprised to see Spurs do it, or the Skis supporting it.

It is absolutely idiotic. I agree to sell you player A. You want the deal to come through with time to spare so you can offload player B to make room for/partially fund player A. You have lined up a team to offload player B to. Then I tell you, "well, I'm going to make you wait until the last minute of the deadline so you can't offload player B, since I don't like the team you're offloading him to." Yes, this hurts Arsenal, but it makes you look bad to other teams you might want to do business with in the future. And no, I wouldn't want Arsenal to do the same thing if the tables were reversed. I'd prefer the team I support to not resort to dirtball tactics.

There is no way that Barcelona sells Mascherano. With the shortage of CBs they have he is vital to the success of their season.

I was flipping through the channels yesterday and since FSC doesn't show live soccer anymore (except for the UCL & Europa) they were showing 2011 UCL match between Arsenal & Barca.

You guys were really close to being the best club in England.

RVP, Cesc, Nasri, Song, Clichy, Eboue, Theo, Wilshere, etc... Not to mention youngins like Ox, Ramsey, Wilshere, etc...

You were a solid keeper and backup ST away from being elite IMO.

As yes, the tie which was mostly decided by RVP being sent off for kicking a ball literally a second after a whistle. A whistle which was drowned out by thousands and thousands of people screaming.

It's not a dirtball tactic because it has very little to do with your team dude. This is about Spurs punishing RM for the crappy way they have handled the Bale transfer saga. They aren't doing this with the sole intent of screwing over Arsenal, this is about Spurs and RM, Arsenal just happen to be a team potentially hurt by this incident.

RM is about to pay 100 million for someone not named Messi or Ronaldo. What exactly can Spurs be upset about exactly?

Well first, the reports said Spurs were delaying in large part to screw over Arsenal. We don't know how accurate these reports are, of course, but the tactic has a lot to do with Arsenal because Spurs are delaying until after the North London Derby, delaying 'til the last second in the hopes that Arsenal can't acquire any of RM's players.

Second, some punishment this is. If the punishment goes to plan, the end result is that RM gets Bale, the guy they wanted, whether it happens now or at the last second. Yeah, RM sure learned their lesson. That's why this is so idiotic on the part of Spurs. Either Bale goes to RM, or RM gets pissed at the feet-dragging and calls the thing off, leaving Spurs in the position of having just bought players with money they don't have. Yes, that scenario is unlikely (even though Fernández-Tapias hinted RM might do exactly that), but why risk it? And why risk developing a bad reputation in the transfer market?

Third, as ZM Punk pointed out, there is absolutely no need for Spurs to act this upset. It's not like RM tapped up Bale for years, sent in one low-ball bid after another, claimed Bale's heart was at RM for an entire season, and had RM players pull a Madrid jersey over Bale's head. Instead, they bid a gigantic 100 mil for a fantastic player who, quite frankly, is not worth that much. Have RM been saints throughout this whole ordeal? No, of course not, but delaying a transfer going through to teach the receiving team a lesson is stupid. And yes, it's also dirtball.
