He was likely on the bench because even though he had a knock he could play if absolutely necessary, but Wenger didn't want to risk it. And I agree with Wenger here because we are three points back of the leaders. If Wenger played Cech midweek, and Cech aggravated the calf injury and had to sit out vs. United, everyone would be saying "WTF Wenger? You knew how important the United game is, and yet you still chose to start your injured keeper against an inferior Olympiacos team? Ospina could have more than handled that match!"

As I mentioned before, I'm extremely miffed at what happened midweek, and the Ospina howler was unacceptable. But I just don't fault Wenger for wanting to protect Cech with a huge match coming up Sunday.

Wenger made a good point in his press conference, something to the effect of: "If you watched the game and you came to the conclusion we lost because of Ospina I question your knowledge in football".

Yes, that goal hurt us, but it wasn't the reason we lost.

You guys are incredibly fragile mentally for some reason.

Not even being mean or anything, Arsenal honestly looks like they have been taking the Liverpool road for the last 10 years. You guys aren't winners anymore, there is no longer a ruthless desire to win. Good players but the atmosphere at the club must have changed somewhere along the lines.

It's why you guys are going to dominate United on Sunday, and still manage to lose.

This doesn't 100% fit with back-to-back FA Cups, though.

If anything, we're on the cusp of finally breaking free of it, although it remains to be seen if it can be done.

In terms of a ruthless desire to win, I think we're slowly having players that have a far better mentality than we've had in the past. Not enough, though.

I loved the passing that led to those goals. So unselfish. And we've all complained before that Arsenal will come out hot, not score, and it will cost them. Not this time. 3 points, 3 goals, and clean sheet vs. United. Now we just need consistency.

I agree, I will say I was impressed with Theo in the first half and even though he didn't score his desire to press and break on the counter was very good.

It's even more clear that it's his spot up front to lose. Glad to see him getting a run of games in and impressing.

Just having him in the lineup changed how they defended. I thought United was pressing too aggressively without having their back line pushed up because of the counter threat. I think that opened up the midfield and let Ozil and Alexis do what they want.

Super impressed by Monreal Saturday and he keeps just being steady. He shut Mata down all doggone day.

Easily one of the top fullbacks in the league right now. Did he end up signing his contract extension/new contract?

Don't know, but I know they were in negotions a little while ago. We are about to lock down Sanchez for 5 years and Ozil for 4 which are a strong priority. Once those are done, I'm certain he is next.

Debuchy looks like he already has one foot out the door. So thankfully, we've Jenko as cover next season. Debuchy agent leaked potential Juventus interest and then Juve came out and flat said no chance he signs with us. That is gonna be a mess break up. Sucks for him, because it wasn't his fault that he got hurt but you can't drop Bellerin who is one of the most exciting young players in the league.

I'll take a 3-0 win on the road any day. Nice to see Ramsey and Giroud get goals.

Tied for conceding the fewest goals in the league with Spurs, at 7.

Along with us finally seeming like we can finish, not bad at all.
