We haven't done that in the past and won't be doing anything close to it for a few years because we've done horrible, awful transfer business. When we've had to rid ourselves of players it's basically been that—us offloading them and getting nothing in return.
Our transfer business incoming must improve before our outgoing business, which can then hopefully improve our incoming business because we have money to spend which was generated by selling, which was available by smart buys. Mustafi, Elneny, Perez—these are the types of transfers which must end for us. If we can't sell for a profit, we're going to be stuck.
Not saying we're going to spend the type of money others are, but we're in the infancy of trying to set up something entirely new, and if it does work at all it's going to take several years.
I love Lucas Torreira, but he's the type of player we might sell in the Summer of 2020 or 2021 so we can buy two of him. I'm okay with that, which is why I'm not okay with seeing Sven leave as he seemed critical to this type of system working, but with our financial (owner) restrictions, it's the only system that we can do so I'm sure it'll continue forward.
