      Observations...

      1) CONCACAF officials are still an embarrassment.

      2) Panama has to be the skinniest side on the planet. No one eats.

      3) Bradley has to go....

      4) Um...where were Dempsey and Altidore? Was there anyone in attack other than Pulisic and Nagbe? Looks like this internatiol break took a lot out of the kid...he has played tremendously...but I bet he returns to Dortmund a bit worse for wear. Didn't help that officials allowed him to be abused.

      5) McIlroy was a waste of a sub

Considering we didn't play well I'll take the point.

Lmao Bradley is looking like his old self for the first time in years and you want him out NOW?

Dempsey and Jozy did fine, it's hard to play your game when the ref is letting the opposing team just literally mug you to take the ball. Pulisic, Dempsey and Nagbe got the worst of it for sure, but the few times we actually got the ball up to Jozy he'd just get fouled.

A point away at Panama is fine, most teams don't win there. Mexico has been on way better form than us during this hex and they didn't win in Panama either.

Did people just expect us to start 6-0'ing all our opponents from here on out?

            re: Official USMNT/USWNT Thread

I understand the idea of getting points on the road...but Panama was awful.

Bradley's back to his old self? I'd like to know what you mean by that...what I saw was typical turn overs in the very middle of the field leading to counterattacks and a very meek effort trying to get to the corner that led to the goal.

Oh, and lots of backwards passing.

At times it was like they were all just watching Pulisic.

I didn't mind the approach...lots of over-the-top midrange balls played into the offensive half or attacking third on the wings...after that, though, every one would seem to stand around.

It just looks strange out there with Pulisic having such a high motor and everyone else being...stiff... Nagbe was also active, too...though to a lesser extent in general and less effectively.

The team really needs some energy...Wood and Yedlin can't come back soon enough.

Am I still the only one that would like to see the USMNT give ghetto teams like Panama a little of their own medicine? Just a good elbow every now and then...

CONCACAF officiating...what a joke. They should bring in neutrals from other confederations

Panama was awful? Sounds like we indeed weren't watching the same game.

Their finishing was pretty bad but they were all over us for the majority of the game, we definitely got lucky more than a couple times and Howard had to make more big saves than Penedo.

Our energy is probably fine, had a lot more to do with the pitch and ref than anything else.

Like I said, even Mexico has trouble away to Panama and they are a better team than we are right now

                Agree on the officiating though.

Not sure what can be done about it, since it's basically always been this bad. I don't think they actually care.

It's tough to officiate matches when only one team is interested in actually playing the sport.

Take 3 at home, draw on the road. We did what we needed to do the last 2 games, and we're in much better shape moving forward.

Like others have stated, Pulisic is our best player by a fairly wide margin. Dempsey is doing a great job of being Dempsey as well, and Howard can still make some big saves when needed.

I see glimpses of old Michael Bradley, but I agree more with the anti-Bradley crowd right now. He gave away way too many balls last night, several that put us in a rough spot defensively. And I've been off the Jermaine Jones bandwagon for awhile now. I'd love to see a couple others get a start over Bradley and Jones. Acosta deserves a chance to play more than 10 minutes.

For not having our best forward (Wood), one of our top 3 or 4 players in Fabian Johnson, and two of our best defenders (Cameron and Brooks), a draw at Panama sure felt pretty good.

Agreed but I think saying Pulisic is the best by a wide margin is doing Brooks and Johnson a bit of a disservice. They have both been playing at a high level in the BL for multiple seasons.

Brooks has been arguably a top 3 defender in Germany the previous two seasons.

Anyway, exciting times ahead. This is the most talent we've had in a long time.

I don't think Pulisic is the best player we have right now.

But if his trajectory continues, he will far surpass Landon Donovan. It'll be nice to have a world class player suiting up for the US. And with the other exciting young prospects coming up, it's going to be some exciting times for the USMNT.

Now if Bruce can kick the door down to get us into Russia.

Fair enough...they did have moments. I felt like they were more isolated, and often the result of turnovers. I'm probably wrong.

He is most certainly the most technically gifted player on the team right now, arguably ever. He is also more composed on the ball than basically everyone. And is the best passer of the ball. I could go on...

Every time I try to temper my expectations, he does something to get me hyped right back up. Sloughing off two CONCACAF goons while maintaining control of the ball and waiting until the pass for the tap in was there? When do you ever see USMNT players show that kind of composure? Usually, someone just fires a pass at someone's leg because they're all "ZOMGIHAVETHBALLINTHEBOXWHATDOIDO"
