But I agree, if he's willing to come on in the 60 minute mark where we are trailing/tied and need a goal then I'm for it.

"It could be the best time [for Hazard] to try something different," Martinez told Spanish radio station Cadena Ser.

"He is a player who has maturity and a lot of leadership. His play is based on talent.

"Hazard could carry a new project anywhere in the world. He is at the best moment of his career. He could fit in any team in the world.

"Players need new challenges and new projects. Perhaps it's a good time for [Chelsea] and for Eden [to split].

Read several stories that a deal for Aleksandr Golovin is very close.

Apparently Real Madrid’s most reliable journalist has come out and said a galactico transfer is not really in the plans and very unlikely.

Could be BS but most Madrid fans I’ve seen talking about it are all saying he’s literally their best source and that this should be taken seriously.

Early days but potentially great news.

Some reports that Courtois could be on the move for as little as 35m?? I know it's the last year of his deal but that seems criminally low.

It is but he kind of has us by the balls.

One year left on his deal
                His preferred location is Madrid
                Real has Navas
                Atletico has Oblak

If Real really wants him they can just wait until his contract runs out and roll with a guy who has won 4 UCLs. There’s really not a lot/if any separation between Thibo and Navas anyway.

I doubt Atletico would even want him back at this point unless they cash in on a huge deal for Oblak. There’s really only 2 top clubs that are in need of a top keeper, PSG & Liverpool and PSG just rented Buffon for a year.

We could probably fetch more on the open market for him but he’ll never agree to terms with the majority of clubs.

Re: ***The Official Chelsea FC Thread***

Sounds like we are moving on to Donnaruma possibly?

                  Also looking at Schmeichel, Strakosha.

I mean, it doesn’t matter who we get, they are all a downgrade on Courtois, including Alisson.

Strakosha is a good ball playing keeper, and we already know Schmeichel is good with his feet. Donnaruma isn’t, but he’s young enough that it probably doesn’t matter as he can be trained.

Honestly I could see us going for Schmeichel. He’d be the cheapest option, he’s a good player, and his age allows us to re-evaluate the position as other younger keepers become available.

Alisson is good, but £65million+ for a keeper with a single good season under their belt is madness. He could turn out great, but he could also turn out like Karius. Seeing a lot of excited Liverpool fans acting like Alisson is a sure thing, when Karius was just as highly rated but with more experience when he first joined Liverpool.

Anyway, I’m sticking with my Nicolas Tie theory, especially if we get Schmeichel. The club is crazy about him, said to be more naturally talented than Courtois at the same age. Also, allegedly we turned down two separate mystery bids for him right after he signed, both of which were close to the £30million range. That’s nuts turning down that much money for a 16 year old, maybe it means something.

I can say I’m glad we’re not paying £70m for Allison. This non-signing is as big as a signing.

Also here’s the 25 man team making the preseason tour:

GOALKEEPERS: Marcin Bulka, Jared Thompson, Brad Collins

DEFENDERS: David Luiz, Ethan Ampadu, Fikayo Tomori, Michael Hector, Tomas Kalas, Marcos Alonso, Emerson, Davide Zappacosta, Ola Aina

MIDFIELDERS: Cesc Fabregas, Danny Drinkwater, Tiemoue Bakayoko, Ross Barkley, Mario Pasalic, Jorginho, Kasey Palmer

FORWARDS: Pedro, Lucas Piazon, Charly Musonda, Callum Hudson-Odoi, Alvaro Morata, Tammy Abraham

Youth wise I look forward to some heavy Ampadu, Kalas, Palmer, Musonda and Odio action! Hudson-Odio is definitely my favorite so I hope he tears it up on this preseason tour.

Aina has amazing pace but I feel he’s stuck between a winger and defensive back but not good enough to be either in the PL.

Bulka, nice. He is the other teenage keeper we seem to rate very highly. Will be interesting to see how he does.

Also agree on Hudson, hope he lights it up on preseason, he looks like he could be the real deal.

Most likely it for Zouma yes, sadly.

Stoke obviously was pretty bad last season but he wasn’t exactly a bright spot. Going to a more stable team should help, but it’s such a difficult injury to come back from.
