It was a horrible game in terms of entertainment but it highlighted nearly everything that's wrong with us this year.

No cohesiveness going forward. Backline in disarray.

Classic Cahill. He was great for 70 minutes and then went into his "I'll back away from someone dribbling directly at me". No idea what he was thinking turning around. It didn't help that Bran and Dave made a meal of their attempted tackles.

Had we beat them we had a real chance at some silverware but oh well.

I think this hurts the most... it was a sad weekend.

Saw this on the Sky ticker. Why did they even bother?

        CHELSEA TO END PATO DEAL?

Chelsea are considering a move to cancel Alexandre Pato’s loan early with Bertrand Traore now ahead of the striker in the Stamford Bridge pecking order.

According to the London Evening Standard, the Brazil forward has still not reached match fitness and with Chelsea out of contention in league and cup competitions, Pato could return to Corinthians.

Traore has impressed in relief of Diego Costa, with four goals in his last six appearances.

Falcao was supposed to go to China and at the time Traore didn't have his breakout yet. Pato is on 30k a week. He ain't going anywhere right now

Both Falcao and Remy were supposed to be gone in January. We were originally planning on moving forward with Costa/Traore/Pato as our strikers.

I do think it's a made up story though. Pato is crazy cheap right now for a club like ours, I think we will probably keep him until the season is over

I'm hoping to see more of Pato since there is nothing left to play for.

Apparently he was playing mostly in Hazards position in Brazil, so with Hazard out for a bit we might see him there.

Kind of a crappy situation for Pato, because if we are giving anyone a run out in the striker position it should be Traore as he's earned it.

Re: ***The Official Chelsea FC Thread***

We are being linked with so many mediocre players right now, I really hope we don't buy any of them.

Pjanic/Nainngolan would improve us, although I'm not sure about a midfield 3 of Cesc and Pjanic with the DMs we have right now.

We have so many young potential studs out on loan/waiting in the reserves. I really hope Conte gives a few of them a look before blowing 150 million in the summer transfer window. Christensen could play for us right now, you guys all know how I feel about Traore, Baba was one of the best fullbacks in the BL, Aké seems to be doing great, Solanke looks to be developing into something potentially special, Musonda started tearing La Liga apart the second he arrived.

Honestly we need to start keeping some of these players around our first team instead of loaning them out. Otherwise you get a bunch of young players who haven't spent much time at the club, and have no real attachment. It's how we are in this mess we are in right now, bunch of players who don't seem to care that much.

As good as KDB has been, I think our biggest mistakes were selling Mata/Lukaku/Bertrand. Players who actually wanted to be here up until we tossed them. All Lukaku and Bertrand ever talked about while being on loan was coming back the next season and playing for Chelsea. Those two were legit Chelsea fans and we never gave them a real chance. Both of them basically did everything we ever asked of them.

                  Ugh.

Great chance to start giving some of our younger players significant minutes, since we basically have nothing to play for.

Looking forward to seeing our usual lineup tomorrow.

I wonder what Matt Miazga's reaction would have been if you told him he'd be starting an EPL match for Chelsea a year ago.

At least we'll get a glimpse of what he can do. Hope Pato gets a run off the bench and RLC performs.

Obviously it was just Villa, so I won't get carried away, but Miazga looked great. I was surprised by his passing range, and his composure at such a young age is impressive. Hope we get to see more of him.

He looked a lot better than he did midweek vs Colombia but I think it's because he was surrounded by better and more experienced players.

RLC was just awesome. My MoTM although Pedro was quite good too.
