I still want Nainggolan. Him and Kante in the middle would be fantastic. Really don't know where James fits in the team.

Re: ***The Official Chelsea FC Thread***
James replaces Pedro.
Our current system actually suits James quite well. Our wingers aren't actually wingers, both Pedro and Hazard have the freedom to roam around wherever they are needed, often switching sides or playing through the middle. All our width is provided by our wing backs.
Playing as a sort of pseudo-RW/10 hybrid is James' best position (also Hazard's but on the left), and it's basically the same position he was killing it in at RM before they changed systems.
Incidentally, this system is also the reason Willian is having trouble locking down a stating spot. Pedro/Hazard/James are all forwards, whereas Willian is much more of a traditional winger. He and Moses get in each other's way a lot because he is still trying to play like a regular winger.
Sadly, if we get James or someone similar, I think Willian will be one of the first out the door.Comment

Re: ***The Official Chelsea FC Thread***
That makes more sense. I'm still not completely familiar with Conte's tactics.
I actually really like James and followed him way back in his Porto days. It would be an exciting move for sure. Also would be nice to have him on short range free kicks as David can't quite knuckle those.
Is the Oscar deal all but confirmed?SEATTLE SEAHAWKS

Re: ***The Official Chelsea FC Thread***
James would be a killer in our system. He had great vision and is a better finisher than Eden. Aldo better defensively.
Willian could probably play RWB as well which would give Moses some cover.
For 15 mil + Oscar it's a no brained for me. He's still class and there's no shame in not getting regular minutes at Real. He's not a middie and the only people that would supplant Bale and Ronaldo are at Barca and even that's questionable.

Re: ***The Official Chelsea FC Thread***
I'm still on the fence on James. I would take the Columbia national team James and James that played for Ancelotti. The one that tracked back and had a lot of work rate. Signing can go either way depending on who shows up.
As far as Pedro, I've disliked the Pedro signing last year strongly, especially since he was horrible in Barca his final season. However, this year it's the 2013 Pedro and some of the goals this year were beauties. He can still be frustrating but I would like to keep him for the reason of the year.Comment

As I said long ago in this very thread, I'd love to have someone that can score somewhat consistently from the right side.
Would love to have Reus but I know that won't happen.Comment

Re: ***The Official Chelsea FC Thread***
Was a little disappointed to see Michy not start. Don't get me wrong, the result was good and the fluidity of the front 3 was a handful but it would have been nice to see him get some meaningful minutes with Diego unavailable.
Now just get ready for Stoke and hope Liverpool-City draw.

It's strange because Michy looked great when he subbed on earlier this season. Seemed to have an instant impact. He's really suffered from the formation change. He'll get his chance though.SEATTLE SEAHAWKS

Re: ***The Official Chelsea FC Thread***
I can fully understand why he doesn't get minutes over Diego and with us on this run we haven't had to chase a result late but it would have been nice to see him get his run out.
I guess with no CL football we have to expect limited squad rotation.Comment

I legitimately don't see how a person could watch Hazard play and NOT think he's the best player in the league.Comment

He just has to continue the directness of his play.
On his day, he either beats defenders on the dribble or is fouled. Those are the only options. I just wish he had more of a knack for scoring. Hasn't really been a problem this year but his finishing is the only thing keeping him from being the best of the best.SEATTLE SEAHAWKS

the homer in me nods to Alexis.
Probably more because Arsenal are fighting relegation without him i reckon.Support Local Sports
