Re: ***The Official Chelsea FC Thread***
Still can't believe Charlie Adam didn't get a yellow until the 85th minute.
Honestly, Chubby Peyton Manning didn't have a good game. We got the win but he was letting everything go, if you didn't look at the crowd you'd swear Stoke was the home team.
Also, man Costa just keeps delivering. Willian and Moses were great as well, Hazard was a bit inconsistent today, sometimes even poor.
Despite conceding 2 goals, Dave might not have made a single mistake. What a player he is.
I mean, really, we still looked great despite those two goals. First goal was basically an accident, second goal shouldn't have even happened because of Crouch's foul in the buildup.
3 more points and off to WHL.Comment

Re: ***The Official Chelsea FC Thread***
I'm surprised it took the Prem so long to exploit our biggest weakness in this 3-man back, namely crosses sent in to Dave/Victor's side. Now Dave is very good in the air for a RB but isolating him and Moses should always be a focus for the opposition, especially when you consider the flip side of Cahill & Alonso.
That being said, things would have been markedly different had Eden buried that first wayward left footed shot. Credit to Spurs though, they pressed with so much energy and organization. They would have beaten any team in the league on that night and we were right in it until that 2nd goal.
Hopefully some reinforcements will be brought in. Antonio from West Ham would be a good utility player and if we can wrap the Kissie kid up from Atalanta I would be happy. That kid looks like a young Essien trapped in Wilfried Bony's body with Kante's workrate.Comment

Re: ***The Official Chelsea FC Thread***
I'd say Moses had his first poor game, but I think it was more positional and organizational issues than Dave's height being exploited (Moses has serious aerial ability, his height I don't think is ever a problem). The first goal we actually set a great offside trap but Victor was playing like 3 Spurs players on.
Also, Kante was pretty poor by his standards. Not necessarily an awful game from him, but very mediocre on a night when we needed to be great.
Agree with you on Hazard's chance KG, honestly I think he thought he was offside. Otherwise I feel he would have taken an extra touch since he was in so much space. The shot looked really lazy but I think it's because he was expecting a whistle.Comment

Yeah I was thinking the same thing about Hazard. He struck far too casually imo.
Kante's passing early was very poor, even when he wasn't under pressure. I would have liked to see Cesc introduced earlier but I can understand the caution in a Matic-Cesc midfield. We saw it firsthand last year.
White Hart Lane was rocking which ironically feel more rivalry-ish than Arsenal.

Re: ***The Official Chelsea FC Thread***
Our games against Spurs in ththe last few years have been way more intense than our games against Arsenal. With the exception of this past September, Arsenal v Chelsea games generally revolve around Arsenal mentally crumbling in some fashion and us winning by a single goal.
Spurs games are usually super intense and very physical, probably our closest thing to a real derby right now.Comment

Mikel has long been a less-than-favorite player for me. That said, he has eleven trophies to claim and a great decade with the club that will never be taken from him (or us supporters).
I appreciate what he's accomplished.Comment

Saw that we recalled Ake. Maybe depth for Alonso at wing back? Sounds like he's been impressive with the cherries this season.SEATTLE SEAHAWKS
