Our attack is still pretty crap without him. Morata is fine but we still need somebody to reliably get him the ball.

We can't just try for Morata headers from Azpi crosses to win every single game.

I'm thinking more and more that we're set up to play a 3-5-2 with Baka added to the midfield and Eden in that SS free roam position. It's evident we need Baka's athleticism in the middle and to me, Eden looked like himself for the first time since last year.

Also, kudos to Wenger. He gets it wrong seemingly versus everyone except us. IMO you have to high press Cahill and Azpi forcing them to either play it back to Thibo and/or hoof it up the sidelines. Cut off that middle outlet to Kante/Cesc, sideline outlet to Moses and watch us give away possession.

Very good 2nd half defensively by us though and I'm not too upset by the result. Take points off the lesser teams and avoid dropping all of the points vs the top 6 and we'll be fine. That recipe has worked wonders for us in the past.

Seen this a few times now, think that might be right.

3-5-2 with Hazard as the SS and a midfield 3 of Drinkwater/Baka/Kante would be a pretty good team to go up against the better CL teams. Swap one of Drinkwater/Baka for Cesc when we are against a lesser team or a team that is parking the bus.

Will be interesting to see what we do going forward. Pedro was pretty lethal for us last season, but at the same time Cesc is infinitely more creative than both Pedro and Willian. So do we stick with the 3-4-3 and hope Pedro hits form again? Or do we go 3-5-2 and give Cesc a free role where he isn't required to do as much defensive work?

Still not sure how the 3-4-3 will stand up to the really good teams in CL, especially since many of them play with a 3-man midfield.

This is great. You can tell how much it means to him by the celebration. Really hope this is the start of something with this kid.

He was soooo good. I can't remember the last time Eden played 90 and someone got kicked more than him.

It was nice to see an unselfish play in front of goal, the Eden pull back assist to Michy.

              Really enjoyed that one.

                That's just Eden really.

I don't think he will ever have that "killer instinct" in front of goal because he would legitimately rather assist than score a goal, he's very similar to Ozil in that regard.

He basically just scores when he feels he has to.

                Also yeah, Musonda was fantastic.

I can't believe you got like £50M for Costa.

I get that he's a proven goal scorer on the back end of his prime, but Atleti were basically bidding against themselves on a player that you basically have to sell. Why didn't they wait until closer to January??

Wish you would've sprinkled some of that magic dust on Ox to get him to sign the contract you offered.

I'm also shocked they got £50M for Costa given Chelsea's poor bargaining position. Seems like a huge steal for Chelsea.

                          You aint kidding!

                          Oscar 60 million +
                          Ramires 25 million
                          Ake 20 million
                          Now Costa for 50+

Not to mention you get Atletico to buy back Felipe Luis for the exact amount of money you paid for him and get David Luiz from PSG for 6 million quid cheaper than you sold him the first time for. Wizards indeed!

Apparently he can sign for Atletico but cannot play until January due to their embargo and of course the window is shut. He is allowed to train with Atletico which will benefit Costa to keep him fit and available for selection for Spain. Atletico will probably want to get it done so they can present him in front of Chelsea when they play next Wednesday.
