Re: MLS Discussion Thread
This has been crazy. Had to do some other things, but I feel like I've accidentally caught all of the goals. What a mess of defending. It's crazy just like the first leg.
I feel like the Sounders match up a lot better with Montreal, and they'd get the Impact at home, so that's who I'm rooting for.?The Bulgarian Brothers - a story of two brothers (Oggy and Dinko) as they coach in the NCAA and the NBA.

Montreal just ran out of gas here in extra time. Their defending on set pieces earlier in the game was hilarious though.Comment

Re: MLS Discussion Thread
Can we hold on for 15 minutes? I fully expect Montreal to get at least one goal back.

Re: MLS Discussion Thread
What a classic East Conference Final. 3-0 deficit overcome. Extra time. 7-5 on aggregate. Combined 97,000 fans. Might be attendance record that will never be broken.
We'll host our expansion cousins Seattle in the final. (Came in the MLS two year aparts, but same year (1977) in MLB)Comment

Re: MLS Discussion Thread
Forecast looks chilly, especially for Seattle, where it rarely gets below 40 F. I am from the Midwest, and miss "real weather" but I do not know how many of our players are used to running around when it's near freezing.
However, despite that, I'd still give Toronto the advantage. They'll be the best offensive team Seattle has played in a while (Dallas doesn't count because Diaz and Castillo were out) and aren't awful defensively, although their 3-man backline can be exploited by speed. Giovinco's injury doesn't seem too bad, but we'll see.
I probably think Toronto wins 2-1 because Seattle's defense has been very good and it won't be a shootout, but I am not sure if the Sounders will be able to score enough.?The Bulgarian Brothers - a story of two brothers (Oggy and Dinko) as they coach in the NCAA and the NBA.

I'll say 2-2 to penalties. I don't think the temperature will have much of an effect once Seattle are running around for a few minutes.Comment

Re: MLS Discussion Thread
TFC WON!
What a crazy game. Montreal leads 1-0, TFC now needs 2 to take the aggregate lead. TFC gets those 2 goals, then Montreal ties it up. TFC now needs 1(along with Montreal not scoring) to get the game in to OT. They get 1 and game goes to OT. Giovinco goes down with an injury and TFC is doomed....unless the guy who has barely played the past 2 months that replaces Giovinco ends up scoring the game winning goal!
I'd watch soccer alot more if we could have crazy, entertaining, high scoring games like this alot more often.
Can't believe we're gonna have a Toronto team in the finals of something! I know it's no Cleveland or Chicago, but still....23 year drought for a city which has been the laughingstock of sports for most of those years since.
TFC has scored 14 goals in their 4 playoff games. Going back to the regular season, they've outscored their opponents 20-8 in the past 6 games!
Only TFC-Seattle game that's happened this year was a 1-1 draw.Last edited by Majingir; 12-01-2016, 12:15 AM.Comment

Jozy Altidore has been so good coming back from injury. I can't believe how dominant he has been out there.Comment

Re: MLS Discussion Thread
1 more day! There might be dusting of snow earlier in day,but that's it. Field is heated anyways. TFC wearing red, Seattle wearing green. Throw in some snow and it's a fitting Christmas themed MLS cup lol.
Temperature wise, its gonna feel like -12C/9F for the game.Comment

Wish Colorado would have won since I happen to be in Denver at the moment. Would've been nice to attend the Final.Comment

Re: MLS Discussion Thread
I was too dismissive of Majingir's weather comments. It feels like 10-15 degrees colder out there than what the thermometer says. Wind is brutal. Maybe I'm getting soft in my old age.
I've been to a lot of games at BMO and it can get even more brutal right beside the lake.
View down the street of BMO before the clash on this frigid Saturday night.
