Re: MLS Discussion Thread
Osorio is making me eat my words this year after all the bad things I said about him last year. He had a beautiful winner tonight as Toronto FC will take a 2-1 lead to Mexico.
I'm not sure they can pull it off in Mexico but it will be exciting.Comment

The quality of refereeing in the MLS is nothing short of an embarrassment.Support Local Sports

Leaky defensively, but we recovered most of the time.
Ref was garbage, should be embarrassed, ashamed, etc. Calls either way were mired with inconsistencies, and gifting Orlando a goal was also unfortunate. Toye had a beautiful flick, butSupport Local Sports

Re: MLS Discussion Thread
Two huge games tonight. Red Bull look the favorites to advance ahead of TFC and Seattle. Two huge road goals plus a completely rested first eleven. TFC, on the other hand... tough ask but if they can grab an away goal to cancel out Tigres' from last week, who knows?
RBNY - Tijuana 8pm, TFC - Tigres 10pm. Both on Go90.com.

Re: MLS Discussion Thread
Congrats to Ny Red Bulls.
If we play the second half like the first we wont be joining them. It looks like we're playing for a 0-0 draw which is an awful idea.Comment

Re: MLS Discussion Thread
Crazy 2nd half! Tigres scored 4 times, tfc once. Unfortunately for Tigres, one of those 4 was an own goal.
Score was 2-1 tfc in final few mins plus stoppage, Tigres gets 1,then another in stoppage! Fortunately for tfc, aggregate score is 4-4 and they advance on away goals!
NY and tfc in the semis, Seattle could join too and face NY in that semi.
And it really is gonna be Toronto VS America lol.Last edited by Majingir; 03-14-2018, 12:15 AM.Comment

Re: MLS Discussion Thread
That was a ridiculous second half -- five goals. TFC advances on an away goals after a 3-2 loss. I thought the 93rd minute penalty was kind of cheap but I was expecting one of those cheap calls.
Edit: Video of Gio's wonder strike. If his FIFA rating for free kicks isn't 99 that's wrong.
The goal is at the 2:53 mark.

Re: MLS Discussion Thread
Aside from a glaring error that led to a goal, this year's home opener was much better than the last. Nicholson is a riot.

Re: MLS Discussion Thread
Seemed like everyone was more free flowing without Molino in there. Kind of weird. Could've also just been the way they were instructed to play as opposed to the first two being on the road.Comment

Re: MLS Discussion Thread
Great win for the home opener! Nicholson was on fire for the Loons yesterday. It's exciting to see him start realizing his potential, you could tell last year that the talent was there. Maybe just needed a year to get a feel for MLS. Really hope he can lock down that LW spot.
Also thought Schuller had a great game. It'll be nice if he can take over that midfield spot, and we can work Fernando in, once he's fully recovered. We've got the makings here of a much better team than we were last year, hopefully it means we can push for a playoff spot.
The lines getting into the stadium were awful yesterday. Really hoping it was just first game rustiness by the staff. Can't wait to get to Allianz next year.University of Minnesota Golden Gopher Hockey
