Re: MLS Discussion Thread
I don't get why they're playing both conference finals next Tuesday and Wednesday night and then like a 11-day layoff until the Final on Nov. 10. Why not play the conference finals on the weekend of Nov. 2?Comment

Never try to figure out MLS scheduling, it only ends in disorientation and headaches.Comment

That's like telling me not to hunt down and open every treasure chest in Assassin's Creed. Of course, I shouldn't do it but I still do it even though it's painful.Comment

There's a benefit to that though(I assume) MLS scheduling will just change again next year to a more impressively stupid system.Support Local Sports

Re: MLS Discussion Thread
My third El Traffico tonight and I’m nervous like I’m playing in the actual game. It will break my heart to see LAFC lose in the playoffs to Carson.

Re: MLS Discussion Thread
I'd like to see more replays on that 2nd LAFC goal at halftime here. They sure didn't take long looking to see if it was offside, and ESPN didn't really show a clear replay on it that I saw, but I'm only half paying attention playing some EU4.
EDIT: Uh...that was clearly offside. Wow, how do you miss that with VAR in place?Last edited by ImTellinTim; 10-24-2019, 11:41 PM.Comment

Re: MLS Discussion Thread
TFC vs Atlanta it is.
What a difference. Going from a horrible setup in a soccer game on baseball field to now being in Atlanta at one of my fave MLS venues.
So they're going up against the end of the 1pm NFL games and the beginning of the 4pm games.
Don't know why they couldn't do it Saturday afternoon or evening.Comment

Re: MLS Discussion Thread
I see Ibrahimovic took the loss in stride. From ESPN
"I have another two months [on my contract]," Ibrahimovic said after the match. "We'll see what happens. ... [If I stay], then MLS is good, because the whole world will watch it. If I don't stay, nobody will remember what MLS is."

Re: MLS Discussion Thread
That was some atrocious refereeing in that game lmao, surprisingly NOT in favor of Galaxy.
That goal from Zlatan they called back at the end because the LAFC guy ran into the other dude’s back, fouled him, and then threw his arms in the air as he goes down was high comedy.Comment

Re: MLS Discussion Thread
That was the most entertainment I've gotten out of a neutral game in so long. Even the postgame had everything. Bob Bradley told the on-field interviewer to "get lost" and walked away after he was asked about Vela disappearing in big games in the past.
Zlatan grabbed his junk and glared at a fan that said something to him as he walked off.
The game itself was MLS all rolled into one perfect package. I hope these teams meet in the playoffs all the time.
It even had zealous MLS propaganda from the announcers. Twellman kept going on about how it was the biggest match in the entire world on the day. Despite things like Celtic-Lazio, Roma-Gladbach, and Porto-Rangers in a European competition happening. And then at the end, he said that this was a "watershed moment" for MLS. Taylor, my man, this kicked off at 10:48 on the east coast. Even half the people who might care about this match were in bed.Last edited by ImTellinTim; 10-25-2019, 12:08 PM.Comment

After the first two rounds of games, I am fully on board with single elimination and hope they never go back. Embrace the chaos.Comment
