They didn't pay 50m for his finishing though, he's not a striker. Anyway, he isn't worth 50m, few players are.

Also, Ox might be the more interesting prospect between him and Raheem, but he absolutely isn't better. This is coming from somebody that begrudgingly really likes Ox.

I'd like to think that for 50m for an attacker, you can finish one-on-one. And yes, he's not worth 50m. Not right now anyway.

No doubt he should be putting that away, but even top strikers flub 1v1s.

I just think it's a little too soon to be criticizing. I realize it's just banter etc. but City is getting too much crap for buying Sterling honestly. They complained City didn't have enough English players, so they bought one and people still complained. Sterling is one of the best U21 attackers in Europe, if he was Brazilian I think the narrative would be very different.

Kind of a siderant but this is the problem though, it all comes back to the English media and fans. English media is one of the most toxic in the sport, especially when it comes to English players. As much of a dirt bag as he is, Poyet made some very interesting comments about English players recently, and how they don't have anybody that wants to play for England like Suarez wants to play for Uruguay. It's not really the players fault though, they are just trying not to mess up so they won't get flame broiled when they get back home.

Saw somebody pointing out the difference between Uruguay fan/media reaction to Suarez biting people, and English fan/media reaction to Beckham's red card. It's not that Uruguay was in denial, they just didn't care. Suarez is their warrior hero and they wouldn't even contemplate not giving him 100% of their support no matter what happens.

And yes, I know the US does the same thing that England does. There's a joke there about an apple and a tree somewhere.

I get that Mourinho likes to distract everyone from criticizing his players after a poor result, but he has now really crossed the line in demoting that good looking physio. Damn you Jose, why?

I find it funny that he criticized a doctor for running on to treat a player who didn't need treated, as they should understand being another man down would make them vulnerable to an attack.

Well, perhaps if players didn't go down so easily and stay down so easily, doctors wouldn't be conditioned to running onto the pitch each time someone takes a tackle.

Second, not exactly a doctors job to know when or when it isn't prudent ot treat a player they think needs treated.

Lastly, he's definitely just diverting attention away from other things, and now diverting my attention further away from getting work done...crap.

This outrage is solely because the doctor in question is a good looking woman everybody knows about.

Also, we have one of the best medical teams in England, no possible way would we mess around with that just because of one meaningless event. Either this whole story isn't true and Jose is just deflecting blame again, or there is way more going on behind the scenes.

"José bans medical staff while overreacting because he is a petulant baby" gets way more traffic than "team doctor suspended due to ongoing issues behind the scenes"

You'll probably see her sitting behind Mourinho on the weekend and he'll say post match that the media blows things out of proportion and make up lies.

Yeah that's the most likely scenario at the moment.

Also, fun fact: she isn't the only medical team member supposedly being punished, she's just the only one the media is talking about

Re: The 2015-2016 EPL Discussion Thread

My whole thing is when has a physio team ever run onto the pitch without the player or referee waving them on? It's not the phyiso team's job to determine whether a player is hurt or just wasting time. And it's not the manager's job to tell them when to go on the pitch or not.

This is just Mourniho being his paranoid, controlling self. He didn't like that people thought he was wrong. So when a member of the physio team basically said "thanks for the support" to the people who disagreed with how Mourinho handled it, he decided to show who's boss. It will blow over, and the members of the physio team will be back.

Like usual, we're talking about his antics more than the result. Part of what makes him great but completely insufferable at times.

A lot of this is still speculation I'd imagine, going to reserve final judgement until I see an official statement. Jose, the club itself, and all the medical team members that got yelled at have been silent so far.

I'd say there is still a decent chance she will be sitting behind Jose this weekend.

The weird thing is it didn't even result in a goal! But he had to throw a hissy fit immediately in front of everyone. Give them a talking to after the match FFS.
