Predictable, and I take your retort as evidence that my comparison was spot on.

Re: The 2015-2016 EPL Discussion Thread

Good first day of action. A couple of comments from the games:

Has Antonio Valencia been hitting the weight room or has been eating too many pies? He looked BIG!

Spurs desperately need to get a second striker option. Kane will never do it on his own again.

Thought I would never , ever say this but I thought Chris Smalling played very well today.

Very harsh decision to disallow Cameron Jerome's goal against Palace. It would have been a completely different end to the game had it been given.

Marc Albrighton was immense for the Foxes. It is going to be a long *** season again for the Black Cats. They drop the slow as molasses John O'Shea for a just as useless Younes Kaboul at the back. Lee Cattermole regains the armband after being stripped of it by Paolo Di Canio and then gets hauled off after half an hour.

The atmosphere at Bournemouth was great, cheered them on to the final whistle. Great headed goal from Gestede who is a beast in the air.

Troy Deeney should have seen red for Watford. Shocking lunge on Galloway I believe. Jurado and Prodl looked pretty good on their Hornet's debut.

Not quite sure that was a sending off for Courtois. The ball was going away from goal and Gary Cahill would have got there anyway in my opinion. I thought Oscar was unlucky to be the player sacrificed for Begovic as I thought he was the best Chelsea player. man of the match for me was Montero. He tore Ivanovic to shreds down the right flank. Fabregas had to bail him out no end of times.

              Kinda late but my predictions

              1 - Arsenal
              2 - Chelsea
              3 - United
              4 - City

              5 - Pool
              6 - Spurs

              18 - Newcastle
              19 - Bournemouth
              20 - Leicester

Arsenal and Chelsea can be switched. It depends if our main XI stays relatively healthy, a striker (Benzema please) might also be needed but we definitely seem to be able to win the bloody thing this year. Pool might slip into the top 4 but I just can't bet on it. The geordies are likely to be relegated this year, they've been a mess lately and I can't see it getting any better.

It looks as though we are thinking very similarly.

Maybe Cech was sent as a double agent to derail Arsenal's hopes and dreams.

Surprised Giroud walked away from that clash of heads. That looked nasty. 2 good goals from West Ham. How Kouyate got a clear run into the box for the header was unforgivable. No one was anywhere near him. Walcott has looked lively since he came in, surprised he didn't start. Ramsey and Cazorla have been very quiet. Solid debut for 16 year old Reece Oxford. Played well in the midfield 3 with Kouyate and Noble.

Giroud shouldn't be on the pitch. He was KO'd there and there clearly wasn't enough time for a concussion assessment.

Well, we will have to spend money now. Arsene can't say that this **** wins the league. Two years ago, absolutely pissed the bed versus Villa and were forced to spend. Absolute disgrace of a performance all around. The fact that Giroud sent the best crosses in the box tells you all you need to know. Plus you risk Alexis who wasn't ready to play.
