The only thing, IMHO, that can stop Leicester at this point is a boatload of injuries. Phenomenal.

Okazaki was one of the best attackers in Bundesliga, Simpson is fantastic, the CBs are world class, Albrighton has incredible vision and through balls, Kante (no comments here), Fuchs is a top class international for years, Drinkwater and I can go on with at least 5-6 more players. If I remember well I posted something similar about the quality of the players several months ago.Comment

I don't know if I'd call Wes Morgan and Robert Huth World Class, they've played well this year, for sure, but I don't think we need to exaggerate.Support Local Sports

Most people forget that the team has great players:

A lot of players are having exceptional seasons. I too wouldn't call them all world class but this team does remind me of Dortmund when they came on the scene 5 years ago. Their team collectively played well as a unit and you see this with Leicester this season.Comment

I think most of you guys are missing the point behind words like "world class". Ofc Huth is a top class CB and it's not the 1st season he proves that. It's not the money that make a player called "world class". It's their consistency in top leagues.
Many of you also have a totally wrong idea about this team. It's somewhat logical but a simple research about the last 4 years of Leicester will change your mind. If Pearson wasn't so stubborn the team would easily be in Top 8 last season.
Anyway, everyone has its own opinion.Comment

Re: The 2015-2016 EPL Discussion Thread
The term "world class" is over used these days. For me, you need to display top tier play levels over the course of multiple seasons to be considered world class. Money doesn't make players world class, but world class players tend to cost a lot of money if you want to buy them after they have been recognized. Harry Kane has been comfortably one of the best strikers in the league (top 3 easily, probably only behind Aguero though honestly) two seasons running and I STILL think it might be a tad soon to consider him a bona-fide world class striker.
Obviously everybody is going to have their own opinions, but to me, world class means you are unquestionably one of the best in the world in your position. Like top 10-15.
Mahrez and Kante I could see reaching that level if they keep up these performances for another season or so. The reason Leicester is on top isn't because they have world class players, it's because they have a world class team.
What's scary about Leicester is that they are legitimately improving. The question "can they keep this up?" doesn't really apply anymore, because they aren't still scraping by on scrappy,come-from-behind wins. They stopped leaking goals, and they are legitimately outplaying most teams they face now.
They are getting better every week it seems.
Rofl, they really are going to do it aren't they?Comment

The only players I'd consider remotely 'class', nevermind 'world class' are Mahrez and Kante. A lot of players are having great seasons but if you could tell me that Leicester could play in the Champions League against a top side and they wouldn't have the floor wiped with them, you're deluded. Wes Morgan isn't world class, he's solid and in the form of his life. Huth is a good Premier League centre back who when he joined Leicester I thought was taking a sideways step and also is in the form of his life. Leicester as a team are doing a good job of establishing a unitary mentality and they're working hard off the ball to create their chances. On Tuesday we were the better team, they were more clinical which has been the case many times this season and it serves them well.
A lot of Leicester's good play this year has been through many of these players having played together a while who are now under a manager who can actually get some good football out of them. They're also lucky to have no European commitments and having been generally poor in the cups. If the likes of Arsenal, City, maybe even Chelsea, had such a season of playing so few games, they'd be running away with it. It's how Liverpool were in this position two years ago. I'm enjoying it for now, I'm glad they proved me wrong and I hope they win it but next season will be different and I expect them to drop down the league again, especially with Chelsea having no Europe and likely spending big in the summer.

Yes but more than one of us has said that Leicester don't have world class players. You're the one who is disagreeing. Huth isn't a world class player. He's having a good season. As I said the team collectively is playing very very well and when that's happening who cares whether the individuals are "world class" or not. I get that you're over the moon with your club's position, but don't try to tell me that your players are world class. They're having very good seasons but as Brahvacado said, calling them world class is a bit much.
I'm gonna stick by my Dortmund comparison. Look at that team at that time frame in 2010-11. They had very good players but none of them were world class. Bayern had world class players and were left in the dust. Don't take my saying that Leicester don't have world class players as a slight. To me it's the ultimate compliment when your team play as well as they have because they're an actual team.Comment

Re: The 2015-2016 EPL Discussion Thread
I have not seen one person in this discussion claim that Leicester doesn't have great players. They wouldn't be leading the league in February without great players.
IMO, the big question regarding Leicester is going to come in the offseason. Because there are going to be several rich clubs (Chelsea, Man Utd., Liverpool) outside the top 4 who will be spending big to try and get back in. And, of course, teams in the EPL are getting a huge influx of cash from the new TV deal. So regardless of whether Leicester wins the league or merely finishes top 4 this season, I think they are going to have to spend some money and bring in some world class talent if they are going to stay in the top 4 next season. And that might be tough, because even if the Leicester board want to be big spenders, and even if Leicester hang on and win the league, the club still won't have the allure of a Chelsea or Man Utd. In other words, let's say World Class Player X is being courted by Leicester and Chelsea. Sure, Leicester offer CL football, but Chelsea is the bigger name with the higher reputation. I think everyone on this board, if their club doesn't win the league, is rooting for Leicester to do it. But if Leicester can't bring in some top talent to supplement their squad in the offseason, Leicester might have only one season of glory, instead of sustained success. And as Liverpool have shown, once you fall out of the top 4, it is not easy to get back in.Comment

That's the thing. Lots of us actually like seeing a team like Leicester do well. But when you start being condescending again when people disagree with your comments you come after us.
I've been following Arsenal for years. I've done my homework on research and while there are some very good players I would only consider Ozil and Cech world class. I don't go crazy when Giroud scores a bunch because nor do I call Aaron Ramsey world class when he's on form. That's why you get a little shtick sometimes. You're right about your team being very good. Let's agree on that and enjoy the rest of this season because even if Leicester don't win, it sure has heck makes it funComment
