Sounds like Steven Gerrard might be taking the Rangers job if the media is to be believed.

I'd rather he not go to that clown show as his first job, but good luck if he does.

He will definitely need lots of luck, Rangers have been a mess for a while.

They haven't even told their manager what his situation is yet and they're publicly holding talks with another manager. This is the type of **** that should prompt him to not take this job.

Rapids main man Anthony Hudson is apparently shortlisted for the Sunderland job. He's only 37. My comment still stands.

Stevie G has been confirmed as Rangers manager.

This will go either really well or really bad.

Would make the most sense but then again Stoger didn’t make any sense so who knows

Made the most sense for that time, though, right? Who was available for them to get through the rest of the season? I believe it was reported Favre was one of several they wanted either before Bosz, or after, but the timing was not right.

It might have, I’m not sure. I just know Dortmund fans didn’t want him at all, even as a short term option.

Correct, Dortmund had waited too long to divorce from Tuchel. By then, Nice was not interested as the season was not that far off from starting.

Stoger, from what I can tell, is one of those "wins over process" pragmatic coaches. Tactics are more defensive in nature, and Stoger managed to fix a leaky D. However, watching Stoger's BVB try to generate offense with all the talent they have is painful. This was perfectly fine as a stopgap for Dortmund assuming he got wins, but Favre is a much better selection moving forward.

That's what I was recalling—Bosz wasn't one of their top choices (I wish he would've worked out), and it had been reported that Favre was their ideal replacement for Tuchel but the timing was poor. Good to know the memory is working moderately well.

Also, it always seemed fairly obvious that Stoger was meant to get them through the season and nothing else, so it's no surprise they're back to their original target of last Summer.
