It was all going fine for you guys until the new year hit. You've won like half the points available in 2018.

Still you have a chance at top 4, though even if Liverpool do lose their first league home match of the season, you still have to win at St. James's Park which is like Chelsea kryptonite.

From the outside looking in things seemed to be going fine until Jan, but most Chelsea fans could tell you the warning signs had been there the whole season.

Our form started going bad in November, we were just able to grind out results despite poor form until January.

Our attack has been really disjointed and can't seem to get any kind of rhythm, and then on top of that our defense has been nothing short of atrocious by our standards. Usually even when we can't score we can still grind out a draw, but this season especially in the second half, those draws have all been losses.

If Chelsea beats Newcastle and Liverpool loses against Brighton and the CL final against Real Madrid, their "fantastic season" has gotten them nothing but a Europa League participation next season.

The amount of memes and fun this will create makes it hard not to wish for it to happen

So Swansea know what they need to do on Sunday.

A 1-0 win at Palace along with a Southampton loss of 9-0 at home to the new champions and they are safe.

                Good luck Swans!

Who has better odds? Swansea staying up or Chelsea finishing top 4? City winning by 9 is comparable to Liverpool losing at home to Brighton.

There has been exactly one 9-0 (the only 9-goal margin as well) victory since the EPL was created. Liverpool lost to West Brom at home THIS YEAR in the FA Cup.

So I'm gonna have to go ahead and disagree with you here.

My comment was mostly in a joking manner but if City decided to be amazing and score 9, I wouldn't be the slightest bit surprised.

If there were a team that could do it, it would definitely be them. Southampton usually have more pride than conceding that many goals though. Them being terrible at defending is a very recent phenomenon.

Hindsight being 20/20 - They really should have sold VVD early in the summer when teams were really after him. They had plenty of time to sort it out. Instead they kept a disgruntled player and didn't do anything about it. I'm certain they wouldn't be in this spot if they had sold him, bought a capable CB replacement, and spent the leftovers on a couple more players. It's not like their recruitment team sucks. Considering how the table looks, they would've been comfortably top half if they had managed this better.

That match made him immortal. Etched himself into the "PL 5 goal in a match-club". Love that man and I'm still bitter that we sold him... twice.
