The Aguero situation is weird. However I'm 100% on board with a lifetime ban for the fan provoking Aguero, the fan doesn't belong on the pitch, simple as.Support Local Sports

I find out I’m actually off today AND Guardiola crashes out of a tournament?
It is a good day after all.

I legitimately don’t like Aguero but this isn’t on him at all.Comment

When I was younger I used to think "tearing down the goalposts, etc" was cool, however as an old curmudgeon now, I have no sympathy for any fan that storms the court, the field, or the pitch and anything that happens to them. Not even going to consider the fact that fans shouldn't even be getting close to players nevermind opposing players.Support Local Sports

This incident is basically a textbook example of why pitch invasion is illegal.Comment

To a certain extent I understand the fans storming the pitch, because it was a huge upset and Wigan have been pretty bad for a while, but you absolutely cannot mess with the players like that.

I cannot stand that ****. The mentality of, "let's try to get players on the other team sent off," is the weakest/least competitive thing, and it's one of my most hated things about the sport.Comment

Re: The 2017-2018 EPL Discussion Thread
Not sure how many times I've said it, but this sport could take so many positives from the way refereeing is done in rugby.
Mic up the refs, have them start giving out cards for players who harass them, maybe even issuing suspensions to players after games who are repeat offenders. Would be a mess for a few months probably but after that things would be so much better.Comment

Re: The 2017-2018 EPL Discussion Thread
El Clasico during the Mourinho-Pep years was hard to watch at times despite the insane amount of talent on the pitch for these reasons.
I didn’t mind it that much in this case because it was an obvious red from the start.

I would 100% back any notion that you cannot talk to the referee unless you are the captain, or the potentially offending, or offended player. Tired of watching them get surrounded by players after a stoppage of play.Support Local Sports
