I don't have the table in front of me but doesn't that push us up to 3rd on goal difference as it stands?Comment

Walcott with a brace. So is he done for the rest of the year?'Some people believe football is a matter of life and death, I am very disappointed with that attitude. I can assure you it is much, much more important than that.'-Bill ShanklyComment

Re: The 2017-2018 EPL Discussion Thread
A bunch of super reliable sources have reported that Leicester has promised Mahrez more than once that they would let him go. Initially they promised him last season that they would let him go last summer. Roma made an offer but Leicester didn't think it was enough. Fair enough 35m is cheap for a player like that, but he also didn't want to be at his current club anymore which usually factors into a player's price. Then City happened, and a far more reasonable offer came in (60m or something?), and they still refused.
I'm all for clubs holding out and not letting big clubs come in and take their best players, but this time Mahrez isn't the one in the wrong. Leicester has given him their word more than once that they'd allow him to leave, and have gone back on their word each time so far.Comment

Also worth noting; even after Leicester went back on their word in the summer, Mahrez still had a great attitude and came back into the team and played lights out. He's been one of the most dangerous attackers in the league again.Comment

Re: The 2017-2018 EPL Discussion Thread
If we look at it just on the surface of "club tells a player they'll let him go" then it can seem like Leicester are the evil villain. But where are those sources getting the information? From the Mahrez camp? Perhaps it's not as simplistic as we told him we'd let him go this year.
He'll surely be off in the Summer, but from even everything that has been reported, I don't see an issue with what Leicester have done. They turned down a low bid and turned down City's ridiculously late bid, which is the same **** they pulled with Alexis in August.
They'll sell him when it's best for the club, and I enjoy that in this world of agents and players becoming more and more powerful the club who he is under contract to (a new one he agreed to August 2016) is standing firm. It could be argued that Leicester would've rejected City's bid even if it was earlier, but who knows? Lower than they demanded with time to get a replacement could've seen it go through.
I'm not saying my opinion won't turn on Leicester if more detailed reports emerge, but as of now, I love that they're not going to be pushed around.Comment

Re: The 2017-2018 EPL Discussion Thread
As far as I’m aware, at least two reliable Leicester sources reported there was some kind of gentleman’s agreement with Mahrez to let him go.
Also, the City bid wasn’t that late, they had initiated talks with Leicester over two weeks ago and Leicester ignored it, which I think is what Mahrez is upset about.
Today Mahrez missed like his fourth training session in a row, and from what it sounds like, he’s been given a few days off by the club to clear his head. If this ends up being true, then I’d say it’s likely because Leicester really did mess with Mahrez. If he’s just being a douche and throwing a fit, there’s no reason to give him time off.
The fact that Mahrez has been very professional during his time at Leicester, combined with the time off, makes me think Leicester are trying to make something up to him.Comment

That Sterling miss was something.

PEA starting for Arsenal. Since they're playing Everton who literally never help Liverpool, I'm expecting a debut brace.
OMG what an utterly pointless club.
