If City don't make a few more defensive signings, I can see them starting slow. Coming off the disappointment of losing in the CL or the high from winning it with short rest. A slow start wouldn't surprise me.

I can easily see Chelsea and Liverpool starting hot but Chelsea dropping off a few months in. New signings bringing the energy but the poor defense finally catching up with them.

Oh definitely. I just see more of a chance for the team already on top (pains me to say that) resting a bit on their accomplishments more than teams in recent good form deciding to shut it down. Once clinched Liverpool did slip up a bit.

Regardless, I’m so happy there is such a short break and right back out there. Then by time they are done it’s Euros next summer also. Bang on.

5 sub rule is done and returning to 18 match day squads.

        Pleased.

I'm glad to see some things going back to normal. Between the changes in the PL and MLB changes, sports just seemed strange.

Strategically, I enjoyed the 5 subs through 3 sub windows rule. I won't miss it, probably, but I did enjoy how it could change the game strategically on a moment's notice.

^ Like how we did on the last day. Newcastle must have been pleased with our 3 subs on 64 minutes. We took off Ox, Origi and Minamino and brought on Salah, Mane and Firmino. Not a bad trio!

Not sure if I saw it here or elsewhere, but thank you to whoever recommended the All or Nothing documentary series on Pep and City.

It is outstanding, as I watched the first episode last night.

If you get a moment, watch the Brazil one on their 2018 Copa tournament. Really good insight into the ridiculous amount of pressure on the Selecao

"The league also confirmed that it would fully implement Fifa’s VAR protocols from next season."

"Clubs voted unanimously for the protocols, meaning that there will be increased use of monitors and a more consistently punitive approach to goalkeepers moving off their line when facing a penalty."

Can't wait for English referees to not give a single ****.

FA Cup will not have replays this season. Hopefully they keep that going forward.

The Winter break has been scrapped now as well.

They may need to consider expanding the squads past 25 players.

You can already use an unlimited number of players aged 21 or under that do not affect the 25 man rule.

I’m aware, I’ve played a few hours of FM. I was thinking more in regards to senior players.

But yes, it seems developing your own talent could pay big dividends.
