The uneven rest periods around this time of year are already absurd, but this is going to make things even worse.

Example: if (and it's a big if) Arsenal's games go ahead, Wolves will have 9 days of rest compared to Arsenal's less than 2. I'm sure there will be even more unbalanced situations, that's just the one I'm obviously now aware of.

Plus, the absurdity of what gets called off is heating up as Everton's request to postpone due to COVID cases has been rejected by the league.

It’s clearly being exploited too. Leicester put out a near full strength team despite having their game called off due to a ‘worsening’ outbreak.

Leeds having their Boxing Day game called off means it will be arranged 5-6 weeks later when Liverpool will conveniently be without Salah, Mane and Keita.

Well, it shouldn't have anything to do with strength of teams. Even if the only players testing positive were never going to get onto the pitch, they're still around those that are, who will then pass it onto others.

If there's an outbreak, there's an outbreak, and it needs to be contained, whether or not it's the kit man, medical staff, or the star players.

Yeah, aren't there specific rules about number of players you are able to field? You either have enough or you don't.

Regardless of available players, strength of squad, etc, if any team has anyone testing positive, they should not be playing. Which, yes, essentially means that all games should be called off until the league can create something that moderately resembles a coherent plan.

              What a cluster of absurdity.

Palace have players and staff testing positive but their match with Spurs may still go ahead.

                    So dumb.

If it were Spurs players testing postive, you can bet the match would have been postponed. We all saw that Harry Kane can get away with murder.

I don’t know how preventable it is/was but Leeds carrying a ridiculously small squad this year was insanely stupid.

Three Arsenal players are out after testing positive. The amount of positive tests within the next week might be enough for all games to be postponed at this rate.

The almighty Tottenham with a whopping 40 something ish possession at home against a COVID ravaged Palace.
