Hmm, interesting pickup with Murphy. Too bad we couldn't get D'Allesandro...

And good riddance to the dead weight known as Michael Brown.

During recent broadcasts of Chelsea's games, commentators continually say that Jose Mourinho wants three "big names" in the summer...

Michael Ballack is (probably) the first and they've been linked with Luca Toni.

Wigan has lost one of it's biggest stars. Jimmy Bullard had a clause in his contract allowing Fulham to pounce. Another shrewd move by Chris Coleman.

Cory Gibbs could be on his way to Charlton.

Ruud van Nistelrooy drovr away from Old Trafford in disgust, 3 hours before today's game with Charlton. He was told he was on the bench AGAIN and went home.

Is this the last of the Dutchman in Manchester? I think it is.

SWP To Liverpool? I would LOVE for this to happen! We desperately need a right winger. Djibril Cisse, even though has played well recently is NOT a winger, and Steven Gerrard should be in the middle tucked in right behind the strikers. SWP has been absolutely wasted at Chelsea. He made bad career choice moving there and hopefully we can get him.

I still think Joaquin is a better signing for Liverpool.

                            Re: The Transfer Thread

Jonathan Spector may be on his way to West Ham, and in even bigger news, Gooch to Boro?

MIDDLESBROUGH are putting the finishing touches to a stunning £2 million raid for United States World Cup centre-lf Oguchi Onyewu.
Chairman Steve Gibson has negotiated a deal for the 24-year-old giant, who plays for
Belgian side Standard Liege, and will complete the move in the next few weeks.
Gibson is busy in the transfer market for managerless Boro and his next boss will have at least one top player lined up.
Onyewu has been capped more than a dozen times by the highly-ranked Americans and is expected to start in their side when they begin their World Cup campaign.
The 6ft 4 in powerhouse defender has coped well with Belgian football and Boro's spies believe he will be a hit in the Premiership because of his strength and tough attitude.
Onyewu grew up in Washington of Nigerian parents but headed to Europe and had a spell with Metz in France before moving to Belgium.
Several Premiership clubs have checked him out, ut Boro are set to swoop with a deal worth bout £25,000 a week for Onyewu, who would probably replace Ugo Ehiogu in their squad. he deal was originally put in motion by chief scout Donald Mackay and Gibson has stepped in despite his club being in managerial limbo.
Gibson has also been working on a deal for Chelsea's unsettled Robert Huth. The player's agent has had talks with Boro and may accept their offer, worth £30,000 a week plus extras.
Gooch and Huth together? That's a lotta man in the middle.

Locking up Gooch before the World Cup would be a huge steal for Middlesbrough.

And I thought the Gooch saga last summer was strange. Over the past couple of weeks, he's been linked with Chelsea, Real Madrid, Fulham, Milan, and Lyon. Now word has come from the official Standard website that Chelsea is making an official bid, and Porto and Marseille are also trying to see what it will take to sign him.

                                From Sky:

Oguchi Onyewu is waiting to see how Chelsea's interest in him develops.

Standard Liege confirmed reports on Saturday that they had been contacted by the Premiership champions.

Newcastle, Fulham and a host of top European clubs have also been linked with a move for the USA international, and he is now looking to assess his options.

"I am aware of the interest of Chelsea. I know there are discussions with Standard," he told the News of the World.

"Fulham and Newcastle have also shown interest.

"I'm waiting to see what happens."

Injuries have taken their toll on Chelsea's defence in recent weeks and Jose Mourinho is eager to bring in reinforcements.

6ft 5ins centre-back Onyewu is believed to be high on Mourinho's list of targets and speculation suggests he could be prised away from Standard Liege for £3million.
