    Re: The Transfer Thread

Martin Jol: "To say he refused to play is probably a bit harsh, but he wanted to move and if you want to move you don't want to take risks so you don't want to play in case you get an injury."

But of course Jol is going to try and save face for himself and the club. Why would he say anything that would make the club look bad vs. making a player he no longer has look bad?

I just don't get how you wouldn't want your country's best player, and now, its captain, to do anything but succeed.

I'm a Brewers fan, I'm already used to the idea of rooting for a team whose best player I don't particularly like. It's an acquired skill.

Sounds good to me, hoping this works out in United's favour

It is also said that Csec is the one who has to choose, sounds like this is the closest we are going to get in this Saga. It's either we get him or he just wants to stay

Well I guess it's official, since Wikipedia says so.

While looking at SI.com article about dempsy's transfer, I came across this link: Pep wants to coach USMNT.

My teams: Cowboys, Knicks, Braves, Arsenal FC, Nittany Lions

Ronaldo and Cesc to United transfer stories have been nothing but a **** tease.

I'm seriously wishing for a signing before the league begins. A very-good, quality midfielder will be nice.

Fabregas or Modric would be great, and add Cabaye to be on the safe side

With Gareth Bale set to move to Real Madrid for a world record transfer fee, Arsenal blogger Gooner Daily compared the Welshman to Gunners star Theo Walcott.

                          Actually an interesting article

Always thought this, people called me crazy when I said Bale was overrated, but he is already 25 I believe. Gotze is 21 and I would much rather have him on my team.

he's 24 but yea I do think he's over-rated, he does have more to offer than Gotze tho and I do think he'll be world-class soon. He's not world-class, atleast not yet

Theo is def not underrated. If anything he's overrated. Very inconsistent, especially with his final decision. At least he's put those nagging injuries behind him a little.
