Re: The Transfer Thread
According to Ornstein (and common sense) there has not been a bid made. Which really can not be too surprising to anyone.
I could see Arsene making a cheeky £20m + Giroud bid, but that's it.
Edit: Oops, he's now saying the club are not denying they made a bid. In that case, my above joke is actually now most likely reality.Comment

Apparently, Juventus are ready to buy Szczesny for £14m. If that's true, we better have a plan, because if they feel good enough about signing him, we should feel good enough about keeping him.
Unless of course he wants to leave.Comment

Re: The Transfer Thread
Taking a moment to stop laughing at Arsenal and look at it objectively, I actually don't think it's completely outside the realm of possibility.
It's pretty obvious the kid likes RM and Zidane, but if he's not ready to make the jump to RM yet, then following in the footsteps of his country's greatest ever striker wouldn't be THAT bad either. Wenger can probably promise to make him the first choice striker, something a lot of clubs at that level probably wouldn't offer.
If he's good enough he will land himself at RM eventually anyway.Comment

Re: The Transfer Thread
Saw this on the Daily Mail:
Bets suspended on Van Dijk
Take it as you will, but bookmakers Ladbrokes have announced they are suspending all bets on Southampton defender Virgil van Dijk to move to Liverpool.
The Reds are keen admirers of the Dutchman, with Jurgen Klopp believed to be hopeful of building his defence around him ahead of the club's return to the Champions League.
Liverpool face still competition from Manchester City and Chelsea, though are willing to match their competitors financially in order to secure their target.Comment

Re: The Transfer Thread
Reports are he wants to go to Liverpool because he's been promised a key role. Now to get the deal done.Comment

Re: The Transfer Thread
Hope you guys get him, I'll be pissed if we spend that much money on a CB.Comment

Re: The Transfer Thread
We've been screaming for the position to be solidified for so many years that I feel like I can't even be mad at the price.
I'll justify it by remembering we got Matip for free.Comment

Re: The Transfer Thread
Not so much the price for us, that seems to be the going rate for quality players in general.
More the fact that we'd be spending a ton of money on a CB when we have an academy product that is good enough for Barca to have been after him for quite a while (at least the last 2 seasons).Comment

Re: The Transfer Thread
The lesson for any Southampton player is if you play really well against Liverpool, you're probably gonna get PAID the next summer.
Romeu is probably rubbing his hands together right now.Comment

Re: The Transfer Thread
Has anyone heard anything new on Kyle Walker being sold? Seems very quiet around Tottenham lately.Current careers:

Re: The Transfer Thread
Do you want Walker out the door?
I do, if we get 40m for him. But we might have to upgrade Trippier if we do, he's weak in defense.Last edited by ZeroTheHero; 06-05-2017, 03:07 PM.Comment
