        Re: The Transfer Thread

        And now starting today's news:

9.42 Kaka's personal assistant has suggested that the Milan playmaker would welcome a move to Chelsea. The Blues are rumoured to be negotiating a world record transfer fee for the World Player of the Year.

10.10 Blackburn are close to agreeing a season-long loan deal for Chile international Carlos Villanueva. The midfielder's club, Audax Italiano, expect the deal to go through next week.

10.30 Sunderland have opened talks with Pascal Chimbonda over a proposed switch from Spurs. The full-back has fallen out of favour at White Hart Lane since the arrival of Scotland international Alan Hutton.

11.18 Bolton are holding firm in their valuation of defender Abdoulaye Meite. The Ivory Coast international is out of favour at Reebok Stadium, but will not be allowed to leave on the cheap.

11.59 Bristol City boss Gary Johnson feels that he needs 'two or three new faces' if his squad are to repeat their heroics of last season. The Robins are short on numbers heading into the new campaign and have seen their pre-season preparations falter as a result.

13.19 Inter Milan may turn their attentions to Liverpool's Xabi Alonso should they fail to land Chelsea's Frank Lampard. Jose Mourinho is keen to strengthen his midfield this summer and sees Spain international Alonso as a feasible option.

15:26 Milan rule out the possible sale of Brazil international Kaka to Chelsea.

16.50 Milton Keynes Dons captain Keith Andrews has been told he can leave the club, perhaps paving the way for a move to Blackburn Rovers.

17.08 Wigan boss Steve Bruce has admitted he faces a difficult decision over whether to keep Henri Camara, who spent most of last season on loan at West Ham.

17.27 Wolves midfielder Elliott Bennett is expected to complete a loan move to Bury in the coming days.

17.43 Agent Wagner Ribeiro has claimed that Chelsea have made a 'firm offer' of £31.75million for the Real Madrid forward Robinho. However, Ribeiro expects the Brazilian to stay at the Bernabeu.

18.19 Arsene Wenger expects star striker Emmanuel Adebayor to still be at Arsenal for the start of the new season. The Gunners boss is also confident of bringing in a number of new faces.

18.52 Kevin Keegan has admitted that Newcastle cannot afford to start the new season with the small squad they have at the moment. The Magpies boss revealed that he is currently waiting on one or two situations.

19.25 Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson has hit back in his war of words with Daniel Levy. He feels the Tottenham chairman's threat to report the Red Devils to the Premier League over their pursuit of Dimitar Berbatov is 'embarrassing'.

21.02 Striker Luis Fabiano has extended his Sevilla contract until June 2011. Fabiano was the Primera Liga's second top scorer last season and had been linked with a number of other clubs this summer.

          Re: The Transfer Thread

21.52 Striker Dave Kitson has revealed that the opportunity to play Premier League football was too good to turn down after completing his move from Reading to Stoke.

Paper talk According to the Spanish media, unsettled Barcelona striker Samuel Eto'o has been given the green light to negotiate his exit from the club. The Cameroon international has been linked with a scarcely believable move to Kuruvchi of Uzbekistan.

22.28 Tottenham players Steed Malbranque, Teemu Tainio and Younes Kaboul have all held talks with Sunderland over possible moves to Sunderland. Pascal Chimbonda also travelled north earlier on Saturday to meet with Black Cats officials.

I love each time I see this, since I get a good laugh out of it.

Also, what's the latest on Henry? Does it look like he's going to stay in place?

Haven't heard a pip about Henry yet this summer, so I'd assume he's staying put.

                Edit: Fixed a spelling error.
