To be fair, it depends what kind of bench you are sitting on.

Training regularly with elite players for an elite team might actually be better for such a young player than the MLS.

But yeah, I’d think RB probably knows this and would look to loan him somewhere he’d get regular minutes.

That sounds good in theory, but I can't think of one example off the top of my head where this was actually the case.

Just off the top of my head, John Terry and I’m pretty sure Stevie G.

Also Messi and like half Pep’s Barca.

            Pulisic and Mckennie?

Not too many American players have actually been good enough to train with elite teams yet.

Yeah, they are good enough and have played in the first team from a young age. There's just not a lot of success stories out there of young Americans going over to Europe and being on the bench. That tends to not work out so far.

Also, I see you've joined the club of the elites.

The Skrtel transfer has fallen through for now because Rangers can't afford his wage demands

We tried to warn you, Stevie...

Wow, congratulations! Nice to see Roman loosening the purse strings for the 15th-year anniversary of the club.

Jorginho to City looks like it’s gonna happen. Not sure if they’re going to include Zinchenko to get the price down or not. Hopefully not.

Pep's system is so consistent at such a high level, the rest of us are going to need to massively step up our game if we want to challenge for the title.

I agree 100% that training with a high-level team is probably better than MLS competition, but the area it has hurt Americans in the past is National Team duty. The guys who get lost on the bench in Europe rarely get consistent call-ups for USMNT duty. And Adams definitely needs to be on just about every call-up roster for the foreseeable future.

I think he's good enough to work himself into the 18 for Liepzig though, so it may be a moot point.

The Bundesliga is where it's at for fans of the USMNT. It's crazy how many solid young Americans reside in Bundesliga.

Sounds like Fabinho to Pool for £40m is close enough to call.
