Unless he is loaned out, 6 foot 3, Billy Koumetio was getting rave reviews in pre-season. Klopp really likes him, despite being only 17.

Re: The Transfer Thread
I know what the actual answer is, but after the VVD situation, and what he turned in to, I genuinely think top 6 clubs are stupid for not spending on players they think will impact the team. Like if Sancho was a depth/spot starter piece, I get just mulling around and trying to lower the price, but it seems like even Utd view him as a gamechanger/everyday player. If you think the player is good enough pay the price. Sure you might end up with Kepa, but I don't think anyone worth listening to is gonna roast you for doing what you believed made the team better.Support Local Sports

The FM mentality. Its just money! (I agree)

Re: The Transfer Thread
I mean, it's only for those players you think will be truly elite, and take your club to another level. VVD cost Liverpool 90m, and Liverpool were laughed at for spending that much on a defender, but he did prove to be the absolute gamechanger they thought he was.
Now if you're spending 45m+ on players to have them sit on the fringes.... ehhhhSupport Local Sports

Re: The Transfer Thread
I'm thinking Hoever may be part of the Jota deal. Yeah, I'd say he's more of a RB and we're definitely pretty solid, there.#LFC

Re: The Transfer Thread
Hoever to Wolves for up to £13.5M (9.5 guaranteed) and 15% of a future sale.
Jota to Liverpool for up to £45M (41 guaranteed), and he will sign a new 5-year deal. Apparently, only 10% of this fee is due this year.
Both are done deals.Last edited by ImTellinTim; 09-18-2020, 05:40 PM.Comment

Re: The Transfer Thread
So, Liverpool are taking that whole having depth thing really seriously this year.
As for Wolves, I don't think they'll be worrying about relegation or anything near it, but their outgoings make me feel that they won't be able to improve from last year. But, perhaps the system will continue to shine regardless of who Nuno plugs in?Comment

Re: The Transfer Thread
40 million for Jota is a great bit of business for Wolves.
Liverpool’s been sniffing around Sarr from Watford too.
Both of those guys will finally give them some good backup options/depth for Mane/Salah who have logged serious minutes over the past 3-4 years.

Re: The Transfer Thread
Jota is a real bargain really at £35-45m. He's only 23 years old. Can play down the middle and on either flank. Great, great alternative to the front 3!Comment

The Transfer Thread
The total definitely went up because of the payment structure. Liverpool are also only paying 5M of the Thiago fee this year. Really nice day today.
Still would have preferred Werner but all of that was due up front. I imagine he would have been asking for much higher wages too. But Jota fits our style and like you said can play all over up front. He’ll be a starter as Mane and Salah age and/or move on.Last edited by ImTellinTim; 09-18-2020, 06:26 PM.Comment

Re: The Transfer Thread
^ Klopp has said players don't need to leave but I reckon we could see a couple. Not looking likely Gigi is getting a new contract and Barcelona are calling. I also think Origi could go. Brewster looks like a permanent move away is also happening.Comment

Re: The Transfer Thread
I reckon Origi could have success somewhere he can be guaranteed to play up top week in and week out. Right now he kind of gets wasted by being stuck on the left wing a lot when he gets minutes. A really good option to start up front in the cups though. Will be interesting to see if he’s moved.
I wouldn’t be upset if Gini just played out his contract this year and moved on for free. He’s been great for the club and I never begrudge a player for playing out a contract.Comment
