Danny Welbeck signs for Brighton. Adam Lallana's been keeping the treatment table warm for you.

He'll at least score a late winner while falling down, losing his passport, and doing a full somersault before he heads there.

Kabak to Liverpool seems to be picking up lots of steam. For only being 20, he has some solid defensive stats amongst Bundesliga central defenders from last year:

                26 appearances
                Clearances: 15th
                Shots Blocked: 11th
                Aerials Won: 13th
                Fouls: 1.0/game

This season he's 9th overall amongst all positions in aerials won—he'll fit in.

I just hope whoever comes in isn't expected to be "savior of the season" or something. I mean, defense has been the least of Liverpool's worries even since VVD went out. Despite playing with approximately 1,258 different CB pairings so far this season.

^ Agreed. A couple of new bodies to enable us the opportunity to move Henderson and Fabinho back into their natural positions.

Edit: Henderson at least. Fabinho might need to be the main CB with Matip made of glass.

DeAndre Yedlin is moving to Gala on a free. The way this was handled by Newcastle was a comedy of errors that featured letting his visa expire so he had to miss two recent matches.

How does Covid/Isolation work in these transfers?

For example the new striker WBA signed the other day, Diagne. He was straight on their bench and came on. No 14 day/10 isolation period?

Same with new Chelsea manager, Tuchel. He's named manager and is in the dugout the next day. No quarantine or anything.

                        What are the rules then?

I am sure it has to do with proving ongoing testing was occurring with the player/coach at their old club that match the guidelines in place for EPL players/staff.

I don't know about other European countries, but the UK since close to the last window has had something to the effect of 'elite sports exemptions' or something of that wording. Basically, because of where they're employed/playing, they're considered to be in more of a bubble, tested what I assume is daily, etc.

Edit: Yeah, it's Elite Sports Organizations. If you want your head to explode, do some light reading.

                              Upamecano to Bayern is official.

As an Arsenal supporter all I can think about is how it’s £18m less than Arsenal reportedly offered in 2019.

                              Take that, Leipzig.

                                Oh noes!

Essentially the same thing happened with Werner, where Leipzig tried to hold on as long as they could to him, but by doing so, ended up getting less in return. As a fan, I'm fine with this, as it shows a commitment to on the pitch success.

Looks like Liverpool triggered Ibrahim Konate's release clause of 40 M euros. He's a fantastic CB, but he's injured too much. To replace him and Upamecano, Leipzig is bringing in 19 yo Josko Gvardol from Zagreb for 17.6 M and 21 yo Mohamed Simakan from Strasbourg for 16.5 M.
