    Re: The Transfer Thread

Harry Kane leaving Tottenham is something that Spurs fans have been preparing for ever since, well, his first few months as a Tottenham player.

A report from The Athletic states that Kane, 27, is putting the building blocks in place to leave Tottenham this summer if they don’t qualify for the UEFA Champions League.

Spurs are currently three points off the top four with eight games of the season to go.

Kane has been linked with Manchester United, Manchester City, Real Madrid and many others, and the England captain has had a sensational season for Spurs, as he leads the Premier League in goals (19) and assists (13).
The latest transfer news continues to swirl and Erling Haaland to Manchester United and Sergio Aguero to Chelsea are just a few of the latest reports.
Yankees, Manchester United, Chicago Bears, New York Rangers

Wonder who is going to come in for Kane now that he told Spurs he wants to leave this summer.

That’s apparently not true and just Sky doing their thing. I don’t doubt he’s ready to go, but I don’t believe he told them he wants out. They’d be tested without him doing that, I’m sure.

                The Transfer Thread

Sky running an interview on the 26th with Kane. Perfectly timed between the end of the domestic season and the champions league final so the final can have the extra edge of ‘will Kane go to whoever wins in Porto?’

He probably stays under empty promises that Levy will improve the team. Kane has no leverage here and Spurs won’t be able to reinvest the money they get from Kane well because they’re Spurs.

I don't understand the last part? We reinvested the Bale money for six players, just three of those players turned into busts. I expect us to reinvest whatever we get for Kane but I hope we sell Son too. No point in keeping one without the other.

Sky's report seems like a lot of BS. It's no secret Kane wants to leave but no way he told Levy yesterday he wants to go and that he wants it done by the Euros. Kane isn't the type of person to cause drama with the club.

Ah my bad, I read your comment wrong. I read it as Spurs won't invest because...well their Spurs...

I have zero faith in Hitchens or Levy with transfers. I'm hoping they do the right thing and invest in potential players instead of big aging names.

If you do sell Kane you should throw a lot of that money at Sancho.

Chelsea, Liverpool, City, and United are all pretty deep on the wings. Sancho would be an upgrade over nearly everyone but they all have bigger priorities IMO

Would he come to a EL team though? I think I'd prefer the money split over a few positions than just one considering all the upgrades Spurs will need.

I know it sounds crazy but if Kane goes, Son, Toby and Lloris should be up for sale too. Get as much money as possible for the new manager to reinvest for a rebuild.

                              No.

Plus, I don’t think Spurs would ever spend that much in one player. They’d spread it out over multiple players, which they should. Losing Kane and adding one player in exchange does not put them where they want to be.

If Spurs can get a player of Sancho's quality they'd better go for it. You're not going to be able to replace Kane and all that he offers with a bunch of average players hoping that they hit or develop into studs. Poch was really good at player development but unless you hit on nearly all of your transfers for a 2-3 windows like Liverpool did you're better off at buying a big piece and then adding around them.

IDC who it is...at some point players, top players and managers are what wins trophies and sustain that winning. If Spurs lose a player of the profile of Kane they're going to need to buy big. Supporters aren't going to be cool with replacing Kane with a bunch of mid-level buys.

Now whether or not Sancho would go to Spurs is unknown but wages talk.
