I can't believe PSG didn't take the money for Mbappe.

I wouldn't be surprised if Madrid never made an actual bid. So much smoke and mirrors. It's just posturing to Mbappe. Show him how much they were willing to do so come January he knows how much they truly want him.

That's how I viewed it. I reallllllyyyyy wanted PSG to call their bluff.

I think it was smoke & mirrors too. Mbappe can leave to go to Madrid for free next summer and roll a lot of that transfer fee into his own pocket. PSG now has a year of Mbappe playing with Messi & Neymar to try and convince him to stay.

Madrid could be scary next year. Mbappe, possibly Haaland, Vini Jr, Rodrygo, Valverde, Camavinga, Militao, etc... Uncle Carlo just has to try and not get fired this year.

Leipzig went in and stole him at the last second.

Ending up selling Sabitzer to Bayern for less than he's worth. A classic Bayern play: pulls a mindfreak on the player, thus killing all the selling team's leverage. I suppose if we're rebuilding this year, may as well go all the way; Sabitzer is 27.

I know Greizmann was sorta of a bust for Barca but for them to give him away on loan to Atletico Madrid is pure madness to me. Two years in a row they decided to do something like this is beyond me.

I think it's part of the long plan, the first few games without Messi (extremely small sample size) but he's been a ghost/invisible. Now this Winter/Next Summer if they can offload Pjanic, Umtiti, Lenglet, Coutinho, etc. they could have the cash to go after a Haaland type player while having a good young core available and if one can dream a new manager.

Barça save $ and get $50 million for a player that could've been benched once/if Ansu Fati, Coutinho & Dembele come back healthy and do well.

Luis Suarez leaving for nothing was mad. Only thing I hate is, could they have done this last month? Could Messi have stayed if this was done on 7/30.

It does suck to make a rival better, but lets be honest the Atleti squad was probably the best out of the big 3 even before this move. Sacrifice now for something better in 2022.

From what I remember their new President saying it was something like they needed to save 4 euros for 1 euro spent.

No worries though…Luke de Jong is coming to save the say [emoji23]

He just recently turned down an offer that would have put him like top 3 highest paid players or something like that.

                      He's gone.

I've also heard from a few journalists (not pundits) that he's expressed that he wants to be 'the guy' and not one of them. He wants to be leading a team, spearheading an attack, etc.

I know it could be said that he wouldn't have that in Madrid if he's with Haaland, but in a way he would as with both of them being young it would very much be their team, where as with Neymar and Messi, they're his elders, etc.

Oh yeah probably but that doesn’t mean PSG won’t keep upping the ante. He’s the golden boy that just happens to be a Parisian. It’s worth throwing everything at him.

Kreb…I personally think he has a bigger following than Halaand but it’s Madrid, they’re always going to get the newest shiny toy out there.

Ferran Torres going to Barca for $55m. Hate to see him leave but doubling your investment in a year is really good business.

I've barely watched any of City this season - has he been playing a lot?
