Re: The Transfer Thread
People all over the place saying Sturridge 2.0 etc. but this is not the case.
Lukaku himself has been pushing for this move for months, he said so in the press conference. José has also made it clear he wanted the guy to stay and fight for a place but he doesn't want to. This is a guy who wanted the starting spot on a CL title challenging team handed to him and him alone at the age of 21, and bailed out when he didn't get it.
In the end we got nearly 30m for a player that doesn't want to be here. I'll trust that Jose has a plan.Comment

Plan = you will just buy another really good younger striker when you need one.Comment

Re: The Transfer Thread
Honestly it's entirely possible that is just the plan. Costa is only 25 so it's not like his days are numbered, I also think Jose rates Bamford and Solanke so we might see them come up in the next few years.Comment

Re: The Transfer Thread
Spurs sign Dier for a reported 5m, seems pretty low for a player of that quality at such a young age. Also, of COURSE Spurs would manage to find the only good English youth that doesn't count as homegrown.
Southampton possibly in for Chicharito because I guess they really hate us? Wtf Saints, it was Liverpool not us!Comment

Re: The Transfer Thread
Frank Lampard to join Man City for a few months on loan? Would be really strange to see him in anything other than a Chelsea shirt in the EPL. I hope it doesn't happen.Comment
