I think Lambert could go permanently if I'm honest. WBA have been sniffing around him for a while. I highly doubt that Balotelli will be still there on the first of September. That would leave us Benteke (assuming he signs), Sturridge, Ings, Origi and Firmino can play there if necessary.

Re: The Transfer Thread
Looks as if Fabian Delph to man City is back on. What has changed in the last 6 days, more wages?
EDIT: Sky is reporting he is having his medical right now.Last edited by ~LiverpoolRed~; 07-17-2015, 11:10 AM.Comment

Re: The Transfer Thread
I thought Delph outright rejected the move because he wanted to stay at Villa?
Maybe he'll get to play in some Capital One Cup matches with City?Comment

Re: The Transfer Thread
Benteke is a fantastic buy for Pool. He is far better than most people seem to give him credit for, he's way more than a target man. Actually, he's one of the more complete strikers in the league. He's got great pace, can dribble very well and has fantastic close control, which means he can create chances for himself if he needs it. He has great positioning and general awareness, good passing abilities and knows when to be selfish and when to pass it off. He's exceptionally composed in front of goal, a lethal and natural finisher. Very two footed and very adaptable.
This is the kind of signing that could finally push Pool back into regular CL contention. Say what you want about Pool, but their midfield could still be described as infinitely better than Villa's. Benteke with actual service is a frightening prospect.
People easily forget that Pool managed to push United in the 4th place battle all the way to the end of the season, despite not having a single striker for almost the entirety of the season. As bad a season as Liverpool seemed to have, give them a striker with 20 league goals and they would have comfortably beat United to 4th and possibly even challenged Arsenal for 3rd.
This season is going to be very interesting.Comment

Re: The Transfer Thread
My main worry with him is he hasn't quite been the same player since his achilles injury that he was when he first came to Villa.
But yeah, you don't score 42 goals in 88 EPL matches being strictly a target man.Comment

Re: The Transfer Thread
Villa better have some plans with this windfall coming in as players are leaving at a swift pace. Weimann is gone (underrated in my view), Given, Vlaar and several other fringe players. If their top scorer and skipper leave their squad looks wafer thin. Sky is reporting that Sherwood is interested in Adebayor. I wouldn't touch him with a barge pole with his temperament. Not to mention he gets about £100,000 per week not to play.Comment

Re: The Transfer Thread
I wonder if he had a change of heart after Benteke's clause was triggered?
