Hopefully Eriksen plays like he gives a damn at Inter. He sure hasn't played like it for Spurs. A couple years ago, I honestly thought he was top 10 in the PL.

Arsenal are set to sign Flamengo CB Pablo Mari. Originally it was rumored it was a loan with an option to buy, but now looking like it's a permanent move. He arrived in London today for his medical.

Okay, latest is €4m loan fee, and another €4m at the end of the season can make it a permanent deal—allegedly.

I don’t think he stopped caring, I think he’s completely burnt out.

Sounds like it is on the verge of collapse.

Edit: According to Sky talks are still ongoing.

He was always set to return to Brazil after the medical in London—seems him departing is what fueled the thoughts of it being off. If it breaks down now after him traveling into London on Saturday with Edu, it would either be due to something in the medical or some kind of a sudden disagreement in the terms.

Still seems on track as of now, though.

Christian Eriksen officially signs for Inter for about £16.9m. And Spurs sign Lo Celso permanently from Real Betis for £27.2m.

Spurs getting money for a player who was about to leave in the Summer for free can be seen as "good business" or whatever by some, but the fact that they knew he had not planned on signing a new contract for several years and never moved him until now is awful business.

Yeah, £17m is better than nothing, but it would've been even more this past Summer, and even more the Summer before that.

I thought I saw some bluster from Flamengo saying that they want the deal to be permanent off the bat and Arsenal are looking for a loan with option to buy at the end of the season. This would be a very silly thing for Arsenal to botch seeing that the deal is under £10M. Just make the deal permanent now if you really want the player.

                        Re: The Transfer Thread

In old and tragic transfer news, Cardiff City continue to be the worst. They've always refused to pay Nantes anything for the transfer of Sala, claiming it was never completed. FIFA ordered them to pay the first installment, but they've appealed.

They're now bringing criminal charges against Nantes claiming they played a role in his death due to wrongdoing in arranging the flight.

It seems like nothing more than yet another effort to make sure they never pay anything related to the transfer, which can honestly be broken down to them profiting off the death of a player. They seem to have repeatedly tried to paint Nantes as the villains, desperate for money, but it's really them who comes off looking the worst.

At the same time though Kreb, teams were reluctant to pay an outrageous fee for a player they knew was going to be available for a free. Not only that, but someone who was going to demand high wages. His wages at Inter are crazy.

Since the end of the 17/18 season it seemed increasingly clear he was never going to commit to a new deal with Spurs. He had two years left on his contract at that point and it seemed that from that point in he had decided he was never going to renew.

I’m just surprised Spurs never moved him on earlier for bigger money, which would entirely cover the cost of a replacement.

He also played very well for them last season while they were finishing in the top 4 and making the CL final which made them a butt-ton of money. They definitely should have gotten a deal done over the summer, but holding on to him last season worked, and all things considered with the fee they got today they came out ahead.

From what I’ve read both sides were pretty respectful. It could have been a really ugly situation but it worked out ok for both sides.

Eriksen got his move and got paid
Spurs got a younger replacement for more outright cash but half the wages.

Yeah could have moved him but would they have been a top 4 finisher these last two years without him?
