"You can't always give all the reasons for why you've done something, but the most important thing is we're doing it for the right reasons," Johnson told the club's official website.

"I can understand any surprise there is amongst our supporters [about the Nick Carle move], but I think I've been here long enough for people to know...[that] every decision I make is for the betterment of this football club."

Thanks, Gary. That tells us a lot.

Maybe he can drink a few with Thierry and pretend they are still the class of the world.

You should read up on that. Even Kaka has said that he'd probably end up at some point playing in the Premiership. And Arsenal or Chelsea would be a good place to play. Even Arsenal has deep pockets. Shoot, AC Milan is half-broke. They'll sell for the right price. And I can't really see Real going after Kaka unless they ditch the whole Ronaldo thing. But I'm very happy to see that they have kinda chilled a bit on Ronaldo, at least they are sending out the public message they have. I still think they are using the media to play head games with CR to get him to force the issue with ManU. Then they just come in with a "fair" deal which will probably lower the transfer fee. Sly dogs, they. But dogs nonetheless.....
