Yup, same here. My internet gets spotty sometimes. Luckily I live in a town were its not perfect but readily accessible. Can’t imagine what’s it like for folks in the ruralist of area’s.

To get back on topic. I like what I see. Really looking forward to the AI golfers. Other than the god awful editing, the full swings we saw in motion while not perfect looked much better.

Looks like Patrick Cantlay has been added to the roster of pros in the game, albeit decked head to toe in sponsors that he no longer endorses

Re: EA Sports PGA Tour Career Mode Trailer and Deep Dive Blog

OK, watching the video and here's my "stream of consciousness" thoughts:

- create a golfer and choosing a swing animation look great
- choosing from different golf bags is a nice add
- headcovers, too!
- putting looks awkward
- no mention of an LPGA career mode?
- 32 events/weeks in a season
- OWGR is in
- "The Wetlands" is being used twice in the career mode schedule (at least once as an alternate event host, I think)?
- a lot of fake events on the calendar, too, which I guess is to be expected
- progression sounds really nice
- Club & Ball Specs sound a little too arcadey for me...a bit too over the top with being able to buy specs from the store, or get specs to play just like the specific pros
- Five different golf bag loadouts is great!
- adjustable AI scoring...very good
- Quick rounds are back from Rory...nice for when you have limited playing time
- ability to customize round settings based on event type is great, too
- season length is adjustable...interesting...
- I assume that "EA Sports Championship" type events are a fake version of the WGC events? They are in a section of the season settings menu that also includes the Players Championship.
- No mention of sponsorships and how they work?

All in all...some really good stuff in there. Much deeper in terms of progression and customization. Still not thrilled there's a required online component to the career mode, and that they didn't address it. And I am wondering how female pros/created golfers will be utilized, as there was no mention of an LPGA Tour career mode...

Putting is giving me the old TW games vibes. there was always, and I can't even describe it because it's not "lag" but almost a... hitch? Like you would make contact with the ball but there would be the tiniest delay before the ball moved, almost like it needed to calculate in real time. Getting the same vibes from watching that video

Hoping against hope here but I wonder if the career mode online requirement is due to accessing the Shotlink data for playing against another pro.

Hoping that if you don’t choose this feature you could play offline.

Watching the ApexHound reaction video, and he pointed out that you can use power boost at Augusta:

Yep

My biggest disappointment remains EAs lack of reimagining the gameplay for short game and putting.

Those are shot types and situations where it would have been more than ok to move to fully analog controlled, all in the users actual hands and fingers, touch and power control.

(I mean, ideally all gameplay would have been reinvigorated with fresh ideas ... but alas..)

From my understanding career AI playing partners will use Shotlink data for how they played the course your tournament is taking place on. Wouldn’t the game need an online connection for that?
