Judging by the other trailers in gameplay deep dive, when they showed Augusta (when talking about fairways) and the Hole in one with the heart beat moment, there wasn't a tracer on either of those.

If they really wanted to drive pre-orders, how about an actual discount?

I take it there are no caddies or features related to caddies in the game? They didn't mention it here for career mode. Unless they are importing the feature from Rory where it's always that same dude nodding along with you.

The AI matchup thing sounds kind of odd, but I guess I may not fully understand it. If you're playing in an amateur event, does the AI playing partner use an actual PGA tour player? That wouldn't make any sense. Or is it just some generic bot golfer? I like the ability to actually play in a "group" to make the tournament feel more alive. I'm hoping we get more contextual stuff during rounds in career mode, too, but hardly expecting it.

There definitely remains a layer of simplicity to it all that feels lacking. To be expected, sure, but I guess we'll have to see how this might play out over multiple seasons. With Rory it was way too repetitive. At least we have a quasi-calendar now.

Wouldn't see them doing it when no other company gives you a discount for pre-ordering lol. Ever since the advent of 3 day early access, that's pretty much all you get for pre-ordering games nowadays, especially if you couldn't care less about online and don't care about the extra "Whatever" tokens and equipment they give you.

The only reason I pre-ordered this is because of early access to Augusta tbh. I don't have time anymore to grind and unlock things, I just want to boot up my console and load a round up on Augusta when the game comes out lol

That's not necessarily the case. Sometimes, the online requirement gets "removed" when the servers go offline. I remember NBA 2K14's MyGM mode requiring to be online at all times and they made it work offline without the connection requirement once the servers were shutdown.

Some good stuff some bad stuff but no.
