Re: The OS Golfer's Thread!

Just completed our first annual golf trip down here in Victoria, Australia. 13th Beach Creek Course day one, I took home first place with a scratchy 31 pts including 3 birdies. Lots of average golf with some brilliant in between. Day 2 was just a local course on the Great Ocean Rd. We played a 6 man ambrose and scored -12 with many raging hangovers amongst the group. Great to be enjoying the sunshine and company of others.

Re: The OS Golfer's Thread!

So I am up in Canada and the golf season is terribly short, but this year I decided that I would set a goal when it comes to golf. I have decided that my goal this year is to break par again. I am a 6 handicap and have only ever shot below par golf once in my life. I just can't seem to put it all together on the same day to get below that line, but this year I am going to focus on doing just that. Covid has been a bitch and I want to put my extra time at home towards achieving that goal.

So, for the month of February I have decided to invest 20 minutes a day towards doing something that will improve my chances of doing just that and then as we get closer to golf season, usually May, I will up that and be a bit more specific with what I am doing. Things that I am looking at doing includes mental preparation, healthier eating, losing some weight, getting more agile, etc.

Started on Monday with reading Harvey Penick's Little Red book. It always is a great read and there is still so much you can take from it. Yesterday I did a full wash and clean-up of my clubs and gold bag. I think starting a new year with everything clean and shiny just helps set a great tone for the season.

I am going to use this thread as a way to keep me motivated and hold myself accountable. I may not post every day but will do updates over time.

What are your "Golf Goals" for this season?

Re: The OS Golfer's Thread!

My golf goals are to try to get out more often. I guess that's everyone's goal, but I will expand my definition of "getting out" to range or course. I definitely need more range work. Clubface is closing too fast and I'm not finishing all the way through, so lots to work on.

New driver rig for the year. Just waiting on my SIM 2 Max 3HL and my G425 7wood, then I’ll be set.

Re: The OS Golfer's Thread!

In WNY golf season doesn’t truly begin until mid May. So I’ve got three more months to go. Working nights has its advantages in the summer. Hoping to get out 6 out of 7 days this year!

Re: The OS Golfer's Thread!

Somehow we've got beautiful weather here in Kansas, so a mid-morning tee time with my dad and future bro in-law. My dad has had pretty bad health issues the last six months, so it's a real surprise to be able to play with him tomorrow.

Also looking to start the track back into the single digits as I was hovering at 9 and 11 last year, but with very little rounds overall. Hopefully can bump that up a bit!
