Re: Resurgence of golf games

I'm not trying to devalue your opinions at all. It just seems every piece of news I read about TGC2 your there immediately with a negative comment. I do understand your skepticism regarding changes when you aren't getting info, but it always seems your more glass half empty than half full in your comments.
With regards swing, talking about it in a trailer is not going to shift many more copies, but it is important to the feel of the game and keeping the hardcore, like yourself involved. Which I would say HB wants more than anything.
Have a great game for the hardcore while being popular enough to warrant the expense of continued development is the perfect storm.

Regarding marketing, I'm not sure why more hasn't appeared. I've been on the beta team and I feel the game is absolutely amazing. A really big step forward. So Maximum must have some grand marketing plan. HB have made the game and it's over to them to get people excited and into the shops

On marketing - Put in a good word for those who'd love to see a more basic video with just some gameplay, etc. Literally just you or someone playing a few holes would be awesome!

Thanks Anthony
I don't work at HB anymore, but I will pass on the info. I'm sure they will be doing a stream soon. Shaun is a way better player than me as well

"100,000's of user created courses" might be better than before if they figured out filtering and auto-expired the garbage and/or basically auto-gen w/ a couple tweak courses - Haven't seen either way on that yet.

Time of day is a mixed bag and only part of the issue - It still appears to be locked to the course, so you as a user can't pick a course and specify all conditions (especially wind), which has been do-able in basically every golf game ever.

Did I get that wrong?
I'll have to watch again.
Have you joined the HB forums? Your input, and preferences, are valuable enough to warrant its own thread, or posts there. From what I see here, is you are trying to voice your opinion, just to voice it - and not gear for change. IF so, then HB forums is where it should be voiced, to make a direct impact.

As Divot mentioned, the NDA won't let me comment much more, but I will say again to have faith in everyone involved .

What's keeping you from asking?

If you want it so bad, there is nothing stopping you from making the request as the Devs do listen.

That being said, Maximum Games is marketing the game and it is ultimately their call at this point.

This made me REALLY happy as I remember you being one that had some issues with TGC1. If I'm not mistaken, you seemed to enjoy the game initially but then started to lose some of the enthusiasm. In other words, if you're happy, it's a good sign. If my memory is way off, I apologize...but I'm still happy if you are!

I'll start by saying that I appreciate that you have concerns and you have every right to criticize what you perceive as shortcomings. However, I do have a couple comments about the approach:

1) This particular thread was started on the topic of the resurgence of golf games in general and how it's nice to have options. In fact, the first post didn't even mention TGC2 yet, in the second post, you started criticizing it almost from the beginning. Surely you can see where that can be viewed as "having an agenda." It's fine to have a different opinion in the TGC2-specific thread but your criticism in this thread seems to be off-topic at best.

2) In the TGC2-specific thread (and, to a lesser extent this one), my perception of your comments is that you are looking down on those of us who are excited about the game...some of us simply because we enjoyed TGC1. Again, that's my perception and maybe others don't share it. I'm also fairly certain that isn't your intent but, at least for me, it does come across that way. Simply put...what does it matter if I'm excited about the game but you aren't?

If others share my thoughts on this matter, it may be why it appears to you that they are "dismissing your skepticism." You're entitled to your part of the discussion but it shouldn't feel as though you're telling me that I'm wrong for my opinion. And nobody should be telling you that either. In the end, we're all (other than the beta group) forming our opinions from the same information...we just happen to be considering different things is all. Your things happen to be visual items that I don't care as much about whereas I actually do kinda like the social aspect and you don't seem to care about that. In the end, I hope we can all agree that having options is NEVER a bad thing.

@woodjer

I did not mean to put anyone else down or any of the other things you mentioned...
I'm sorry it felt that way to you - Certainly not my intent.

I quit - Sorry I said anything

Others already have asked (JC) and just going off of Keith's responses, it's clear he's (and HB) sort of doing all he can already within Max Games rules.

Just feels pointless to say anything there at this point.

Re: Resurgence of golf games

This is just a friendly reminder that there isn't any political discussion allowed at OS. I'm putting this out as a friendly reminder because I just saw a red card in the ESPN thread in the entertainment forum discussing politics to a degree.

I know the post has been taken care of, but this post is for any future references in the future.

Carry on and moving forward.

I am looking forward to the new additions to TG2.

As long as we are talking about TG, I had a issue with my xbox1 recently and MS asked me to clear everything including games, etc.....

Of course, I purchased TG digitally for the xbox1, am I able to recoup that somehow?

Thank you in advance.
