I am still doing the memorial cup but my itch to start a rangers be a gm is too much to contain lol.

I will do a full write up for opening night, my home opener, and all division games. otherwise it will be 10 game recaps. Im not looking for 100% realism, but at the same time im not trading for malkin and ovie lol. Im using the october 12th roster update to start the season. Sather OUT.... Darren Turcotte IN????

If I told you that the Rangers and Glen Sather would part ways, the first name that would come to mind to take over is "Mark Messier, NO BRAINER!" Well I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but Rangers fans now have to hang their hopes on another one of their own. That man is Darren Turcotte who played for the Blueshirts from 1988-1993, Darren has been a regular in the developmental coaching world. Here is an excerpt from his wikipedia page;

Turcotte was drafted in the 1986 NHL Entry Draft by the New York Rangers. He was selected in the sixth round number 114 overall.

Turcotte played with several teams in a NHL career that spanned twelve seasons.

After finishing his career with the Nashville Predators Turcotte stayed in middle Tennessee and founded the Southern Ice Lightning AAA Midget travelling team in Brentwood, TN.

Turcotte coached the Abitibi Eskimos (A Junier A Tier II team) of the Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League in 2005–06.

For the 2006–07 season, Turcotte will be returned to where he played his junior Hockey in North Bay, Ontario and coach another NOJHL team the North Bay Skyhawks.

Darren Turcotte was also the assistant coach of the Nipissing University Lakers Hockey Team in the OUA. Turcotte's experience as a coach and former NHLer has helped the Lakers in their in inaugural season in the OUA, to be a contending team ranked as high in the Canadian Interuniversity Sports (CIS) rankings as 8th, especially spectacular considering the team is made up of largely first year players

When Turcotte was reached for a statement, he had this to say. "I am honored to be back in the Rangers family, I expect big things out of our boys this year and the years to come."

Turcotte Strikes Fast, Trades Avery Away

September 15th, 2011

GM Darren Turcotte has wasted no time shaking up the New York Rangers striking a deal with the Florida Panthers sending Mr. Backpage himself Sean Avery away for youngster Angelo Esposito and a 4th round pick in 2012. Avey was unavailable for comment.
