Re: Can you tame a Mustang? (Seb170455 CAP/Twitter dynasty)

This will be my CAP/twitter NHL dynasty. In this dynasty I will focus on 2 subjects. I will focus on the CAP players and their carreers. To make it interesting for me, I will play with the Moose Jaw Mustangs (ex Floirda Panthers). This way I can keep track of the CAP players and have a purpose in playing NHL 13.

I will be keeping track of 19 CAP players. They will all start out in the QMJHL on different teams. They will all be in the 2013 draft. All the attributes will be 79, except 4 attributes (sign up choice) will be boosted to 94. The strange thing is that the overall ratings are not the same. You could sign up for a position and a type of player. They will start out with a 4½ yellow star potential.

In my sign up sheet there was an option to choose which team I should use in this franchise. Many of you choose Florida. I am no Florida fan and moved them to another city. It became the Moose Jaw Mustangs. The Mustangs will have a big overhaul. The first season will be simmed fast, so the CAP players are drafted and have there teams.

CAP players can leave comments in the form of Twitter messages.

I hope you will enjoy this one. Feel free to comment.

A royal Dutch move to Moose Jaw.

Moose Jaw (Saskatchewan, Canada), 1th July 2012.

The whole NHL community was guessing where the Phoenix Coyotes would move to. When and where were the big questions. Seattle and Quebec were already making their bids to get a NHL franchise in their cities. And than there was the NHL. They had something totally different up their sleave. As always.

In a short press release the NHL announced that the Florida Panthers are no more, and that this franchise would be moved to Canada. At the same time there was a press conference in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan / Canada. This press conference was attended by only 6 reporters, mainly local. They were in for a surprise. The mayor of Moose Jaw, Deb Higgings, was accompanied by an unknown group of people. She announced that Moose Jaw would have their own NHL franchise. The Florida Panthers will move to Moose Jaw. These unknown people were a group of foreign investors. This group excist of Dutch and a few other European investors. At the head of this investment group was the Dutch Royal family. Prince William of Orange-Nassau owns the most part of the new NHL franchise. The representative of this investment group will be the new chairman, Piet Heijn. He took over from mayor Deb Higgins. Mr. Heijn had the following to say; "We want to thank the Moose Jaw community for making it possible that we can make our piece of NHL history here. We want to announce that here in Moose Jaw will be the newest addition to the NHL. The franchise will be called the Moose Jaw Mustangs. We will start building a new arena here in Moose Jaw. The plans are already approved by the city. The new arena will have everything a modern and professional hockey franchise needs. The arena will be ready at the start of the season. It will be called the Royal Orange Garden. The main color of our jerseys will be orange. We will take the spot of Florida in the Southeast division. The AHL affiliate will still be the San Antonio Rampage. This franchise is moved from Florida. The roster will move with us. There will be new owners, a new GM and a new coaching staff. The new GM will be dutchman Jo Loonstra and he has appointed headcoach Guy Carbonneau. GM Loonstra and coach Carbonneau will do a big overhaul of our roster. There are many guys who will stay, but there will also be some guys who have to leave. This franchise has to be a contender in the future. Loonstra and Carbonneau will have enough time to build and make this franchise a great one. I hope we will succeed."

Re: Can you tame a Mustang? (Seb170455 CAP/Twitter dynasty)

Draft 2013 has great potential.

Scouts all over the place are busy looking for the next Gretzky, Lemieux or Yzerman. The draft of 2013 could have one of them. The draft class of 2013 has great potential. We already know the big names like defenseman Seth Jones (Portland, WHL), center Nathan MacKinnon and Jonathan Drouin (both Halifax, QMJHL) and center Alexsander Barkov (Finland). But there are many unknown prospects. The QMJHL has many potential 1st round draft candidates or even top 10 prospects.

Saint John Sea Dogs have a starting line up with only 1st round draftees. The 1st line consists of left wing Matti Auvinen (the hawk eye sniper), center grinder John Rock and right wing Graham Morrison (every offensive play starts with him). The first defensive pairing is very offensive with OFD Steve Pattenden and James Blaine. This line will tear up the QMJHL.

This draft class has lots of the usual high drafted prospects. But there are a few surprises. In the 1st round there are not many tough guys or grinders. This year is a different story. Tough guy Duncan Ferguson (Quebec) and grinder Ross Bridges are projected between pick 10 and 25.

Rimouski Océanic is another team that has many high draft picks. Defenseman Joscha von Schmitt (defensive bomb), playmakers center Ryan Cooper (king of the assist) and left wing Malik Clarke (difficult passes are his trademark) and right wing Jacob Gregory (bone crushing athlete) are all in the starting line up. Rimouski and Saint John are the contenders this season. Halifax is another contender with a first line consisting of the already mentioned MacKinnon, Drouin and all round forward Nathan MacDonald (RW).

Guys who I haven't mentioned but will certainly be first rounders are;
Armada's left wing Mikko Holopainen (strong on both sides of the ice), Titan's sniping center Brandon Dean (Jaromir Jagr style), Huskies right wing Noah Jackson (the big version of a Dragunov sniper rifle), Foreurs left wing Ben Ortegel (the Wrestler on skates), Phoenix defenseman Sascha Jansen (contributing all over the ice).

Projected in the top 5 and maybe top picks are defenseman Nicolas Ritt (the American Niclas Lidstrom) and center Ilya Kuznetsov (clone of Datsyuk). Will they become the 1st pick in the draft of 2013? We will see, but one thing is certain. It will be a very good draft with future superstars among them.
