As I've done for the past 2 Olympics, I'm going to be doing an Olympic Simulation, using the Olympic Roster and the correct format for the Tournament.

I'll be posting the results of the Sim in this thread so the updates for the Oilers Season will be delayed until the Oympic Sim is complete.

In 2010 I was able to correctly simulate to the Semi Final matchups but I believe had Slovakia going on to the finals with the US winning the bronze. 2006 was my first attempt at a Sim and let's just say it didn't go very well.

SOCHI 2014

Preliminary Round 1
Russia defeated Slovenia 6-0 (Datsyuk 3 points)
USA defeated Slovakia 3-2 (Kane with 3rd Period Game Winner)
Canada defeated Norway 6-3 (Crosby 3 points)
Austria defeated Finland 3-2 (Goals by Grabner (2), Vanek)
Sweden defeated Czech Republic 3-1 (Karlsson 2 goals)
Switzerland defeated Latvia 4-3 OT (Wick with the OT GWG)

Besides the Austria upset and an OT game the teams that should have won did end up winning. Canada game was closer then it should have been[/size]

Slovakia defeats Slovenia 5-3 (Marian Hossa 3 assists)
Canada defeats Austria 4-1 (Crosby 2 assists)
Finland defeats Norway 6-1 (6 different scorers)
Sweden defeats Switzerland 3-2 SO (Backstrom with Shootout Winner)
Czech Republic defeats Latvia 4-1 (Z. Michalek with 2 assists)

Interesting results this round, including a Swiss and Sweden Shootout, Slovakia is playing a lot better then their real life counter parts.
