Game #10
3-0 Win vs Anaheim

The Stars extracted some revenge for last years playoff defeat as they shut out the Ducks in front of a sold out crowd. Kari Lehtonen continued his excellent play in net, stopping 28 shots and extending his shutout streak to 185 minutes. Tyler Seguin tallied two goals and Jamie Benn added another as the team continued their hot streak, registering their 4th straight victory pulling them into a tie with Chicago for 1st in the division.
6-3-1

Game #11
3-2 Win at Minnesota

Dallas scored just 2 minutes apart in the 3rd period to complete the comeback after trailing 2-0 after the first period. Cody Eakin was the first to tally, after redirecting a rebound into the net. Sergei Gonchar registered his first goal of the season with a powerplay marker and Jason Spezza tapped in cross crease pass from Jamie Benn midway through the 3rd period for the go ahead goal.
7-3-1

Game #12
4-3 Overtime Win vs Los Angeles

Dustin Brown appeared to put the reigning Champions up for good when he scored off a deflection with less then 2 minutes remaining in the game. In a see-saw game the Stars didn't give up and their persistence paid off, after a loose puck scramble in front of Jonathan Quick, Chernov rifled the puck above the sprawling goaltender to tie the game with only 20 seconds remaining.

In the first minute of overtime a Jamie Benn shot redirects off Ales Hemsky's skate and the call on the ice is upheld, even though video replay clearly shows a kicking motion on the play. Daryl Suter was visibly upset about the call and was quite animated on the bench. His players had to usher him back to the locker room but he was clearly not happy.
8-3-1

Re: Starstruck - A NHL 15 Dallas Stars BaGM

STARS SHINING BRIGHTLY 1 MONTH INTO THE SEASON

November 2nd, 2014
Associated Press NHL.com

After a slow start, the Stars have come together quickly as a team and are now one of the NHL's hottest teams. Ending the month of October with 3 consecutive shutouts and currently sits tied with Chicago for first place in the Western Conference.

The teams recent hot streak can be attributed to changes implemented by Head Coach Lindy Ruff, along with the elevated play of Jamie Benn and Kari Lehtonen. After a 3 game losing streak, Ruff moved Jason Spezza up to the first line to play with Chernov and Benn. The move opened up a lot more space for Benn, and he has taken advantage of the situation to continue his hot start. Benn is currently riding a 10 game point streak, registering 12 Goals and 14 Assists along the way.

By moving Seguin to the 2nd line, Ruff can now get balanced scoring as both of the top 2 lines are a threat to score every night. Seguin has also been hot in the most recent games registering 2 goals and 3 assists in his last 4 games. The Stars have also been getting secondary scoring from their 3rd line all season, as Cody Eakin, Eric Cole and Antoine Roussel have been a very effective checking line.

Along with Benn, Goaltender Kari Lehtonen has also elevated his play this year and has been remarkable in net. Lehtonen, has always been a workhorse in net and is usually at his best when he plays frequently. So far this year, Lehonton has started in 9 of the 10 games played. He benefited the most when Coach Ruff adjusted the team strategies to limit shots on net, as Lehtonen set a team record by recording 3 consecutive shutouts and going 185 minutes without conceding a goal. Currently this season, Lehtonen has 6 wins with a 2.25 GAA and a 0.922 SV with 4 shutouts.

If there is some room for improvement, it will be on special teams. The Stars currently rank 27th on the Penalty Kill with a 78.2% efficiency. With the teams offence and defence working, expect Coach Ruff to make changes in this department. The Power Play has also struggled at recent times but still ranks 16th in the league at 18.6%.

Game #13
3-2 Loss vs Nashville

Jamie Benn's point streak came to an end after a disappointing loss to division rival Nashville. Mike Fisher erased a two goal deficit after he received a pass in the high slot and blasted it past Kari Lehtonen. The tenacious Predators battled back after Dallas put up to first period markers by Hemsky and Seguin. Victor Stalberg played the hero in the third period, after tipping in a Seth Jones point shot. The Stars pressed for the tying goal but couldn't get anything past Pekka Rinne, who made 38 saves in the win.
8-4-1

C Vernon Fiddler was cleared by doctors to play. The Stars elected to waive him and he was claimed by Carolina

Game #14
7-0 Win vs San Jose

There was no shortage of goals as the Stars rolled to a huge victory against the Sharks. Jamie Benn went back to work after having his point streak snapped, scoring his 2nd Hattrick of the season. Chernov also collected 4 points (1 goal, 3 assists) as the top line did most of the work. Kari Lehtonen stopped 25 shots on his way to a league leading 5th shutout.
9-4-1

Game #15
5-4 Win at Arizona

The Stars overcome 3 Arizona powerplay goals and a 4-2 deficit to pull out a gutsy win on the road. Dallas entered the 3rd period trailing by 2. An early 3rd period goal by Chernov gave the team some life and they were able to keep up the pressure. Jason Spezza dished a beautiful cross ice pass to Hemsky on the game tying goal and Patrick Eaves jumped on a Mike Smith rebound burying his first of the year to score the game winner.
10-4-1
