FLYERS ANNOUNCE SIGNINGS, TRADES

The Flyers have traded defenseman Brandon Manning to the Kansas City Blades for a 2018 7th Round pick.


Flyers have announced contract extensions for:


Robert Hagg - 7yrs/$21M($3M Cap)
Samuel Morin - 7yrs/$21M($3M Cap)
Sonny Milano - 1yr/$900k

Panarin's Hat Trick Leads Jackets to Victory

Artemi Panarin's 2nd period hat trick and 22 saves from Korpisolo would give the Blue Jackets a 4-2 victory in Philadelphia last night. Brian Elliot struggled in goal, making only 17 saves. Claude Giroux and Michael Raffl would be the scorers for the Flyers who fall to 18-21-3. GM Ron Hextall said very little as did Dave Hakstol about the recent struggles for their team, but the media and fanbase seems to point the fingers at the two netminders the Flyers have. Brian Elliot was expected to be an improvement over Steve Mason, but so far he has been a downgrade. Many expected Neuvirth to rebound from his abysmal year that saw him still get a contract extension and a slight raise.

Pekka Rinne Stifles Flyers Offense

Pekka Rinne makes one of 37 saves during last night's 3-1 Win

Pekka Rinne put on a performance for the Nashville fans stopping 37 shots, while Victor Arvidsson added two assists to lead the Predators to a needed 3-1 victory over the struggle Flyers. Shayne Gostisbehere got the Flyers out front after joining the rush and wrangling a deflected pass from Jordan Weal to lift a backhander past Rinne, but that's all the offense the Flyers would get. Meanwhile the Predators would capitalize on the Flyers undisciplined play to score two powerplay goals from Ryan Johansen and Craig Smith.
