The Boston Bruins have found their new Head Coach, the Team announced Tuesday.

"I have hired Gerard Gallant to be the Bruins next Head Coach." Bruins General Manager Don Sweeney stated.

The Contract is reported being a 6 year/12m Deal making Gallant an annual yearly salary of 2 million Dollars.

The Contract will keep Gallant in the TD Garden with the Bruins until the 2025-2026 Season ends.

"I'm happy to be the next Head Coach of such a legendary Franchise like the Boston Bruins. This Team has a rich history of being an original Six Franchise and won multiple Stanley Cups. I'm happy to be here in Boston and I look forward to the challenge of my goals of bringing this Team, this organization, and this City a Stanley Cup. I want to thank Don for this opportunity." Gallant stated.

Gallant was fired from the Vegas Golden Knights on April 5th when they missed the Playoffs for the second year in a row.

"Gerard has everything I was looking for when interviewing him. He has been in the Playoffs. He's been to the Stanley Cup Finals. He's the Man I feel that is the future behind the bench for the Boston Bruins." General Manager Don Sweeney stated.

Sweeney had interviewed Bob Boughner earlier and had plans to meet with Craig Berube and Todd McLellan before deciding on Gallant.

Berube was hired by Anaheim and McLellan never came to Boston yet as he was interviewing with L.A, New Jersey, and Washington.

Boston fired Bruce Cassidy after a Game 7 loss to the Montreal Canadiens in the First Round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs.

The Bruins won 58 Games and the President's Trophy this season.

Boston is now the 3rd Team to name a new Head Coach along with Vegas and Anaheim.
