Re: Madden 19 PC Setting Options

I have a i7-7700k 4.2 GHz, GTX 1080, and 16 GB RAM.It should easily run 4K, right? It has issues trying to run it though. Is that a “me” issue or an EA issue?

Re: Madden 19 PC Setting Options

Game does seem to have stutter screen tear when DX 12 is selected, went back to DX 11 and those issues were gone. Obviously have to restart game for that to take effect

Re: Madden 19 PC Setting Options

I have a pretty high end PC that I edit on at work. I have on occasion loaded games that I play on my lunch hour. It is more than capable of running M19 but it won't launch. I just get dialogue box that it is syncing with the cloud saves then it kicks me back to the Origin launcher. I have tried updating Nvidia drivers, DirectX, C++ Runtimes, disabling antivirus and verifying the installation files are not corrupt. I have launched other Origin games without issue.

So far it has run on 2 of the 3 machines without issue....so that is good. But if this was my my only PC i would be pretty upset that I can't get Madden to run. This kind of thing is what makes console gaming so great.

FYI. I built my work computer myself out of gaming grade parts to do video editing and it is not connected to our domain so I am the only one who administers it. Chances of some corporate clamp down on this machine is nil.

There isn't an HDR option in the menus. I'm not sure if the game supports HDR or not on PC, but my TV thinks it does. When I ran the game in 1080P it did show Dolby HDR and it did look like HDR was there but I had lag in the mode.

That is an optimization issue.
What is your processor? I'm running a 1070 which is equivalent performance wise and getting a smooth 60 maxed out at 1080p. Though when I tried turning off the 60 frame limit it didn't feel smooth even though it was 100+ fps. For reference my processor is an 8700k. Still though, it's odd that you're not getting better performance.

Re: Madden 19 PC Setting Options

Most of my personal stuttering and lag was fixed by toggling on DirectX 12 in the video settings menu. The game had DX11 on by default and turning DX12 on helped in my case. Disabling GSync in the NVidia Control Panel's "3D Settings" menu and turning VSync on in Madden's menu helped me as well. No apparent change if I chose an unlocked FPS or a locked 60.

It still feels a bit "off" to me, almost as if it's not as smooth as it should be. Again, maybe a patch fixes some of this down the road.

Re: Madden 19 PC Setting Options

Yeah the whole HDR scene on PC just hasn't been ironed out yet....there aren't many games that actually properly support it.

I have similar experiences with Madden, there is clearly something going on with HDR in the game because oddly enough it turns the HDR setting in Windows 10 on when I exit the game lol. Weird. I'll have to try the 1080p thing when I get home to see what happens.

As for performance, game runs totally fine for me. Guess it should though; 7700k/16gb/1080ti at 4k with all settings other than AA maxed.

I had some good results doing the following:

1. Installing today's NVIDIA driver
2. In-game settings to DX11, with V-Sync and Triple buffering set to OFF

This seems to be about as smooth as I can get it right now. Left all of the Nvidia Control panel settings on default, with G-Sync turned on.
