Re: CAPACLASSICS for 16

I'm on PS4 and I'm working on one now. Nothing crazy, just creating the top 5 players All time for each team. Some teams will have more than 5 but I don't want too much talent riding the bench. I will have certain players like Jim Brown and such but most of my guys are from the 80's and up. It will take some time but I'll let u know when it's up on share

Re: CAPACLASSICS for 16

I am in the process of the 1990 season as we speak. I have 4 teams done so far. I am using Cursives edits from Madden 25 with my PS3 and editing over to PS4. Time consuming...yes. Frustrating...yes. WAY too much work for a mediocre football experience...yes, but I don't think I can just stop. At least with MLB the Show you could edit enough attributes to make you feel as if you were actually CREATING the player. With M16, I am just making minor edits to pre-existing players HOPING that Cursive had a formula in place to change the attributes for the player you are creating. EA needs to look at this side of things for those of us who don't want to (unrealistically) pass for 600 yards a game and win a close battle with the final score higher than the national debt. I am torn. Is this worth all the work? I know you die hard Classic roster guys would enjoy it but is it REALLY worth the effort to continue? Would you guys do it? Just venting and looking for some inspiration I guess. Sorry....

Re: CAPACLASSICS for 16

For what it's worth, I only play classic rosters ( madden, nba and mlb ). So I selfishly hope you do complete the 1990 season. However I certainly see your point. At best classic roster give a sub par experience in regards to realism. While nba and mlb are not perfect they are far better than madden I regards to classic rosters. So while I hope you and the other classic roster makers continue the great work. I could not blame you if you don't. I know for me, just seeing these rosters and reviewing the players is in a lot of ways even more fun than actually playing the games. Kind of takes you down sports memory lane.

Re: CAPACLASSICS for 16

I've already figured that it would be a tedious task trying to make a classic squad in M16. But does anyone have a run though of some sort on the process?

I'm making the players 1 by 1 in creation mode and drafting them to the Eagles, saving them I guess to the saved roster file I have by default. Then starting a cfm with the Eagles ...the team I've put all the created players on.

Once the preseason starts, the players are already on the Eagles and I can start trimming away the extras. I've only made 2 players as a test to see how it works. But I'm not sure if I am limited to how many I can make and put on the Eagles squad without going over some limit. And you can't do anything (even edit your creations) when the league starts. It's a real pain in the rear to say it nicely.

Re: CAPACLASSICS for 16

I only play with classic rosters...if they are available.

If you use CAP you will hit the CAP limit before you finish 30 teams. So beware of that. Of course, trying to match a player from the past to today's players is very difficult. You will be editing Punters to be linebackers for teams from the 60's and 70's due to the height and weight differences.

I say go for it. The more rosters the better and we can always tweak anything we personally think we want or need to.

But trust me my friends...I feel your pain!!!

Re: CAPACLASSICS for 16

I'm going to take a stab at these, similar to the 15 set with some exceptions. It's going to be a long, slow, painful process. Maybe I will pass the torch to you to do a few teams once I get to ten? EA messed with the unis making many of them not as adaptable for classic play, and others they didn't touch, like add a home/away retro to match a home/away already in there. Long sleeve glitch is still there for throwbacks, where the arm stripes disappear for guys wearing long sleeves for some teams. The guys in the uniform thread are back and forth about minute details whereas I seem to be unheard when I mention anything having to do with throwbacks. So much potential in this area and so little changes since M13. Another reason this year is going to be a slow roster process...my immersion isn't quite where I wish it was.

Re: CAPACLASSICS for 16

I'm going to post the 78 Cowboys and 76 Vikes within the next ten days or so, PS4. Here is a tentative list that I will be working on. This list was a joint venture with Capa last year, and I continue to receive his input, so this project will be to his credit also. How much of the list I complete depends on interest out there.

1976 Vikings
1978 Cowboys
1976 Raiders
1975 Steelers
1979 Oilers
1968 Jets
1982 Redskins
1986 Giants
1985 Bears
1989 49ers
1972 Dolphins
1966 Packers
1969 Chiefs
1970's (?) Rams
1971 Colts
1964 Browns
1980 Chargers
1981 Bengals
1991 (? Could be O.J.'s year) Bills
1979 Saints
1975 Cards
1980 Eagles
1980 Falcons
1979 Bucs
1987 Seahawks
1991 Lions
2007 Patriots
2000 Ravens
1998 Broncos

Re: CAPACLASSICS for 16

The 1976 Vikings and 1978 Cowboys are up. My PSN handle is 'L8knight' and the current file is 'testclassics'. The next team up is the 76 Raiders and the file name will be 'CapaL8knightclassics' going forward after that. The roster does not allow you to create enough players to replace ALL current players to ensure accuracy with height and weight, but I'm very close. The roster file simply is not big enough to do that. They are off on the line of scrimmage in that in today's NFL LOS players are 300lbs and up, whereas classic players weighed much less. Therefore, LOS players are overweight overall for this set, but it does ensure more balanced gameplay. Otherwise, teams are as accurate with appearance and equipment as I could get, including depth charts. All feedback (good and bad) is welcomed and encouraged so I know where I stand and whether or not I will pursue the editing of 27 more teams. Hopefully there is enough interest out there for me to continue. Enjoy!
