This defensive perspective non switch is quite fun. I'm 54 and have been used to playing behind the QB and switching players since the first John Madden Football on Sega Genesis. It hasn't been a problem at all getting used to playing behind the defense. It's pretty engaging actually trying to battle the oline and being able to depend on my teammates to handle their responsibilities. Watching Parsons and Diggs work is exciting. At first I felt some type of way about the defense performing better without my help but it actually pulled me into the immersion of having to do my job while they do theirs.

Thanks Armor for making the game better for this old dude.

Armor, I am sure this is not going to be entirely useful but just as a test, I went into rookie and tried interceptions at 0. While it was a little easy for me, I will say that it seems like the interception slider is working in rookie mode....perhaps. From the games that I have played (on Pro and All Pro) I am starting to see a pattern where I can tell their DB or LB is going to break on a ball like a maniac and make a super human play to intercept. I saw several instance in rookie where I passed to guys who were mildly covered and the CPU just broke it up. Same when I was on Defense. I broke on passes that I "know" i intercept on Pro and I either break it up or to my surprise it get's past me and it's complete. It really felt different.

I am not saying anyone should switch to rookie but I just thought I'd test it out. On the PC, where modding was available, we could look at the settings in the game engine and see what dice rolls and such are tweaked on rookie vs pro and maybe figure it out? It's pointless here other than to say that it does seem possible that the defenders can play a little more normal.

It was getting a little easy for me so I switched to the advanced passing (which I currently suck at) and I thought "what better way to learn than against rookie difficulty". I threw 2 picks after that because I was just terribly placing the ball. I guess I don't know what I am doing but I added this to say that with interceptions set to 0 it is still possible to have picks in the game.

I guess I'll keep on trying. Honestly not enjoying the game much as the interceptions are just too rampant and that goes for both me and the CPU.

I think many of us on this forum are older dudes, it all but a lot of us. Not trying to get off topic but do you guys see yourselves playing into your 60’s? I always say “ when should I stop”, but I’m still having fun and still anticipating new games coming out so I really don’t see an end in sight! Games on brothers!

I’m going to continue playing until it’s no longer fun for me. So if that’s next year or when I’m 80 then so be it. I always say it’s your life so do whatever makes you happy and sports gaming has always made me happy.

I’m 51. We were there at the very beginning of game systems. We’ve grew up with video games so I see no point in quitting. If I get too old to control the sticks I’ll go back to cpu vs cpu!

Re: Armor & Swords Pro Custom Madden 23 Simulation Sliders For PS5/X Franchise Mode

I broke down and got the game.

Right now I am in my testing phase. Running some sim seasons to check out draft class generation and the new scouting system. Mind you, I didn't use it in M22.

Actually deciding to roll with a single user online franchise this year. I was skeptical but on my testing this year, coach firing to off doesn't work. Coaches still get fired. I am approaching and using online as a challenge because I can't go back and redo something (like draft poorly) and change it.

Still deciding on who to roll with. Down to the Bears and Giants. Leaning toward the Bears. Right now doing my testing in offline mode.
