Cnelly's Approach to Sliders- All Madden

I have tried numerous slider sets (and I have had some great games) but somethings just done seem realistic (running is too easy, can't stop the CPU passing attack, QB% too high, too many sacks). So I am trying something different, I am going to "ZERO" out all sliders and build up from there. If you would like to help in this project, please feel free to do so. You must do it in an offline CFM because I have heard that sliders work out differently in Play Now. Also, you need to use everything the exact same so that we are getting exact results.

My reason for doing this is that I feel it is easier to work up, rather than work from the middle. The first few games will probably be ugly, but I think it will be easier to make the tweaks adding to the sliders, rather being able to minus or add.

I will more than likely be adjusting sliders after each game. I will also post boxscores after each game so that everyone is able to see the adjustments. I have chosen the Jaguars as my test CFM. They were the Lowest rated team OVR in the game, so I thought it would be a good place to start. If someone else would like to take a high-rated team (Broncons or Seahawks), then we can compare results to see what needs to be changed.

Re: Cnelly's Approach to Sliders- All Madden

While there were some good feelings with this game, it never really was close. Foles accuracy was not very good and his receivers dropped about 10 balls. Foles did attempt 6 throws downfield which was nice to see, but his accuracy was off on those too. Each team had 5 sacks, all 10 of them came on the blitz. The CPU had 16 penalties, 14 of them were facemask penalties, so that was discouraging. They also had two false start penalties. I had 6 penalties, 4 of them were facemask with a holding and a false start.

I am going to make some tweaks before the next game. I will edit them in the first post.

Re: Cnelly's Approach to Sliders- All Madden

by experience and by been there.

Qb should start at 4 or 5
WR catching at 35 or 40
Face mask at 55

I should start there as a base if i were you instead of EVERTYTHING at 0. tweak those 3 and try again a couple of games.

Starting my second game now, and I have changed these three things and a few others. Changes are in my original post.

Re: Cnelly's Approach to Sliders- All Madden

please post your Box score when you end up playing with the new changes. This is a really interested thread.

I remember when i tried this i saw that to the contrary belief, sliders at 0 was a very playable game. Of course there were some sliders that need to be rise but still other work really good.

This make me believe how an impact these sliders are. I mean, playing at 0 you still get decent games. make me think

Re: Cnelly's Approach to Sliders- All Madden

Sorry. Family weekend!!! I will attempt to get the boxscore up after work tomorrow. Much higher scoring game. A little too high, but once again there were a lot of facemask penalties, but I also did see some offsides, false starts, and holding calls on both the CPU and Myself. The penalties kept a lot of drives alive. I think once I get the penalties figured out, then the sliders will play extremely well.

Re: Cnelly's Approach to Sliders- All Madden

The score was extremely high in this game. All of the penalties kept drives alive once again. The bright side is that I saw some variety. I had 3 offside penalties and two of them were my CPU controlled guys jumping. The CPU had one offsides, one false start, one holding, and one rough the passer.

Griffin was hard to stop, but he fumbled a lot. So I will have to raise that up. I also had nine sacks which was discouraging. On a positive note, I am seeing linebackers get a lot of tackles. But I do feel that there are way too many tackles for a loss, so I will raise run block a tad more for the next game.

As I said before, once I get the penalties figured out I think these will play pretty damn good.

I have made my adjustments that I will use for the next game in the first post.

Re: Cnelly's Approach to Sliders- All Madden

Much closer game. The Colts offense was not as powerful as it should be though. Luck threw a lot of bad passes, WR dropped 12 passes, and the run game was non-existent. I will make those adjustments before my next game. For me, Bortles was erratic, especially when pressured. You definitely have to get his feet set before you throw (which is a good thing).

Colts scored 2 TD's on fumble recoveries for their only TD's. It was windy and rainy and each team had three turnovers. The facemask penalty was still prevalent, even at 60. So I will bump that down again. There were other penalties though. The CPU had five false start penalties.
